Makes my blood boil, Max. They are choking off data so that nobody can challenge their lies Or understand the extent of the destruction.

I think it is easy to get overwhelmed with the daily onslaught of corruption and destruction wielded by Trump and his Toadies (staff). The lack of coverage by most of the media is another problem that is weighing on all of us who really care about the direction this country is heading. The Contrarian is providing real time news, unvarnished, and updates on the legal side of all of this. The Republicans in Congress and in their home states are basically ignoring the rumblings of the voters, and are set on tilting the voting process in their favor to stay in power. J.D Vance today asked Indiana and Ohio to do the same nefarious process that Texas is trying to do to tilt the election. They all have to be voted out in 2026 if they are running and that message seems to be resonating across party lines. As was once said about America "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve." It is always a mistake to underestimate Americans.

It seems to me that there are fewer and fewer comments in the Contrarian. It is like America has become silenced in disbelief at the fate they see unfolding to their country.

It is like they never thought electing the incompetents they did would result in this.

I guess it's time to wake up.

The Contrarian is overwhelming us albeit with essential information. I can't read every article or listen to every conversation. Just hope I'm not omitting the best stuff.

Perhaps, hope, hope, some of us are now spending less time commenting and more time on actions to fight back? I for one, can no longer spend as much time reading the constant stream of bad news because I find I am then literally unable to sleep at night - still seeking fantasy vengeance against all MAGAts at 4 and 5 am. If I'm spending less time reading, I'm also spending less time commenting.

There are more Guest Columnist articles in ONE Contrarian, so the interest becomes divided.

Until the nakedly partisan so-called 'supreme' court can be persuaded to protect the nation by undertaking its official role as an independent, non-partisan government arm, instead of rubber-stamping every extreme action by the orange narcissist-felon and his cult/sycophant regime, and the cowering, bribe-pummeled/threatened legacy media understand their status as fellow-enablers, and have the courage to resist, and speak out, Dante will be right.

"Abandon hope all yet who enter here."

Max and staff are providing an incredible public service in the form of useful data to track the impact of these draconian cuts. This is complex work, especially when the Trump administration shields information and ignores transparency. Keep at it and hope that the public and future political leaders engage with this important information to stop the madness.

It's unlikely that those reading The Contrarian voted for these incompetents.

Trump is cruel. The article is good.

We certainly need to know and deserve to know how we will be negatively affected by the mass firings and cut backs at agencies for which we already paid taxes to continue and expected good services. My local newspaper and major broadcast television has not reported near enough. And thank you for running down numbers of jobs lost, affecting so many people and families. It has made me angry that our wimpy Republican majority Congresspeople have allowed this and more to happen.

Please keep up your important work Max Stier. I understand the challenge you face in attempting to track and quantify the impact of the Trump administration. But it’s important for us to know, through your team’s efforts, what has happened in the past 6 months and damage that continues to grow. Knowledge is power. Knowledge creates awareness and ability to reason.

We have a future to build!

Thank you for your hard work with your pen lights to collect the info for this valuable overview. It's more transparency than i've seen so far. As dismal and dangerous as the situation is, it is helpful to begin to wrap our minds around the extent of the damage. And there's probably more to account for, like the life-threatening cuts to the FAA (not enough traffic controllers) and the NOAA (bring back the forecasters, it's hurricane season). Thanks for lighting some candles in the very deliberate darkness perpetrated by this administration. Please keep going with this.

Gathering whatever information you can to increase public awareness will ll be really helpful!

If "The medium is the message" … what messages are being sent by the current admin?

— The contradictory nature of ORWELL’s 1984 Ministries (see below) is playing out today - note the specific unfitness of 🪱 Trump’s political appointees & their *adjusted mandates. 🙄

1984 — “In reality …

the Ministry of *Truth is responsible for the control & manipulation of *information,

the Ministry of *Love with political *suppression and torture,

the Ministry of *Plenty with *rationing,

and the Ministry of *Peace with *war.

… each of these names involves a 🔻contradiction, and this contradiction is actually very much by design … the State actively manipulates the perception of reality, in order to advance its own designs, and maintain its hold on power.”
