Earlier this morning, Speaker Johnson was spewing a political prevarication regarding the vote and release of the Epstein files. His stunts in closing the House down during the shutdown and refusing to swear in Rep Adelita Grijalva haven’t worked out for him. That was a last ditch attempt at stalling before the vote.
Trump's only interest in MAGA has always been what the movement could do for him, not the other way around. It's a one-way street. He doesn't love America. He thinks we should be governed like China or Russia where criticizing leaders gets you killed. It is heartening to see him getting beaten up a little. He deserves far more.
A fine summary of the many failings of Trump and his toadies, though one important point was left out of the article: Tariffs, and how they affect the prices paid by the people, whose "kitchen table" economics have already been stretched to the max. Wages for the majority of the American worker have still not kept up with the rising prices all around, many involving basic human needs. People get angry when promises are made and not kept, effectively pulling the rug out from under them. Even the MAGA cult may not survive this.
Again I must say that I really hate the doctored images of Trump. They detract from the seriousness of any factual or opinion piece. Relegate them to the chat, where we expect to laugh things off.
And now he wants to be commemorated by a $1.00 coin with his re-touched profile on it. Better it should be applied to the penny that is no longer minted.
Is this the one I've seen a couple of times on TV (I forget the context) which will have his profile on both sides. LOL: Two-faced, how appropriate. Except two is insufficient to the reality.
That's a bit over the top. There are some things that "cash on the barrelhead" are still good for. They can occasionally even garner a discount on a bill. Just don't use any currency with Trump's picture on it, and stay away from his damned cryptocurrency too. Who would spend real money for something that has no physical entity to back it up? It's a glorified Ponzi scheme that will crash.

Fauch notes that the authoritarian “father” (Trump) can be diminished in two ways: Incompetence—where the ‘father’ clearly is not taking care of MAGA. The second—corruption. They don’t mind him getting rich, while the ‘family’ suffers.
"The MAGA elite isn’t just splintering; it is realizing it won the election but lost the president." I would add to that, "The MAGA elite and his base isn't just splintering; they won the election but lost the president."
They are finally seeing that p47 only cares about himself. Always has, always will.
I’m worried he will open a Justice Department investigation so he can keep the documents locked up. Hopefully MAGA will see through such a ploy. He is quite adept at such tactics.
I like Jeff Nesbit's articles for two reasons:
1. They are great analyses of the problems he is writing about.
2., They are pithy and easy to understand.
