Thank you for this post. Horrible but we need to know.
Starve public education, shrink the pool of those who want to be educators without respect and money, and of those left, impose a mind control purity test.
Meanwhile, Europe and Asia run circles around the US in their support for public education and the quality of education outcomes.
And I've got an almost 3 year old grandson. I will fight for him.
I wonder how they go about sanitizing mathematics? Physics, chemistry or biology? Even if you are a competent teacher you should still supply the correct answers to the test not their politically motivated nonsense. If they wont hire competent teachers then it’s on them but unfortunately it’s the kids that suffer.
This Okie mother and grandmother of 4 is going to have to rest on this before I can post. I have too much I want to say and it’s running all together after this day we’ve had. Some days I’m sure I have marshmallow fluff for brains. Sounds more fun than oatmeal or scrambled eggs, don’t you agree?😉
I have four grandchildren, from age 7 to 16. Having been raised by an excellent career educator, our best was expected. I’m crushed and furious - it feels like a personal affront.
My illustrious state of Florida thanks you for one-upping us today. (Or, rather, one-downing.) As does Texas. Also RE education in particular, West Virginia and Mississippi.
1. If given the choice between the State of Oklahoma and the state of unemployment, I'd gladly choose the latter. But then again I probably wouldn't have to make that choice because nationwide there's a serious teacher shortage and a good teacher would not have trouble finding a job in a better place than OK.
2. Why isn't the Left out there telling teachers what to indoctrinate into kid's brains? I have a belief in life that says you don't send Little Lord Fauntleroy out to do battle against Bluto. If your struggling with a streetfighter, you don't want to be defended by someone whose weapon is the Marquis of Queensberry rules for gentlemanly boxing. You want a no holds barred streetfighter!
Maybe 2 wrongs don't make a right, but sometimes you just have to fight fire with fire.
Look up Prager U which, a few weeks ago, ran that Oklahoma teacher’s test as a full-page ad in the paper Sunday NYTimes, with a banner on the front page announcing the test inside. Prager U produces *videos* — not books, not texts — for classrooms. No fact-checking, no sources — just images/voiceovers presenting, as the writer points out, a whites-only American “history.”

I’ll fight for my grandchildren, too.
More tomorrow if I can remember. Grrrrrrrr!!!
Dear Oklahoma,
My illustrious state of Florida thanks you for one-upping us today. (Or, rather, one-downing.) As does Texas. Also RE education in particular, West Virginia and Mississippi.
Oklahoma? Your talking about the state of the infamous Tulsa massacre?
Not even remotely interested.
These people have learned nothing since.
Absolutamente nada.
I have 2 thoughts on this point:

States dictate curriculum, not the Left, as you say. Teachers have to teach the curriculum, that can be a good or bad thing, depending on which state.
Well, what Oklahoma is proposing to teach kids will make the crazies even crazier and the stupid even more stupid

Oklahoma education just keeps getting worse. What a shame for the students.
