Tylenol is a safe alternative for a fever reducer in adults who cannot take NSAID medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen. The same can also be said of a pregnant patient who also may need fever reduction without the effects of an NSAID medication which can also be extended to anyone elderly people included who needs fever or pain management but cannot tolerate NSAIDs due to issues in their ability to clot properly after a bleeding episode. This is especially important in pregnant patients.

Anything that comes out of this administration regarding vaccines or other health issues should be taken with a grain of salt until a more competent HHS secretary can be appointed. The conspiracy theories and pseudoscience coming from this administration is an embarrassment and eliminates our credibility to being the best leader in world health care.

More like a truckload of salt :)

Basically, the fact has been established that everything coming out of the orange convicted felon's mouth - and every single one working for his regime or voting for him - is a lie, to be absolutely ignored or countered with facts.

Some of those working for him are simply deluded. But at the top there is nothing but evil and toadying.

Every time I think a lie can't be topped, this Administration does another whopper. Where do they even drag these tales of which morass?

"The COVID pandemic taught us how deadly misinformation can be. Lies about masks, vaccines, and treatments cost lives." Just to be clear, "misinformation" is an unintended mistake. Lies are disinformation. Let's call a spade a spade.

Excellent essay. I’d like to think most doctors feel the way the author feels about medical misinformation. Thank goodness for real doctors.

Follow the money. I don’t believe anyone in the Trump administration ever does anything unless money is involved.

There has to be a reason Tylenol was named as dangerous. Does someone - maybe Trump or Oz - have financial interests in the company that owns or markets Tylenol? Trump has ruined so many companies, his own and others, through malicious activities and bad judgement.

Follow the money.

trump was an older dad when he and Melania had baron....there has been speculation baron is on the spectrum. During trumps first run at the presidency, baron was 10 and he was hear saying, I do not want that retard on the stage! It isn't Tylenol that causes autism, but GENES...old man genes...also, as a dentist, the stress of painful toothaches stress the fetus so I would prescribe Tylenol for pain....

James Axtell's avatar

"There was President Donald Trump, flanked by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and others, suggesting that Tylenol use during pregnancy might be linked to autism. 'There's no harm,' he insisted, 'in discouraging its use.'"

Except, of course, for two little facts: Neither Trump nor Kennedy are doctors in any sense, and each of them has a long history of lying.

Trump's attack on Tylenol begs the question: "What pain relief medication does he have a stake in?"

Nan Reiner's avatar

He probably "shorted" Tylenol stock, and told his family and cronies to do the same, a few days before they made the announcement.

Another distinct possibility!

Wait. Can't it be both?

Only a stark raving mad person would follow the medical advice of a fellow who thought that drinking bleach, injecting UV light and swallowing an anti-parasite drug for horses was A-OK. And when on top of that the advice is whispered into the ear of the bleach drinking fellow by a guy who eats road kill and swims in sewage water........

I hope Tylenol (company) sues the shit outa that lying p.o.s. trump!!!

Who in the administration has an intere$$$$$$t incompatible with Tyleno????????????????

Since Trump only does things that benefit himself I wonder where this “follow the money” trail might lead?

When big, brave Donnie boy got that scratch on his ear he had a bandaid the size of a postcard on it for days but "there's no harm in not prescribing" Tylenol for pregnant women.

Hell, if men could have babies, a pregnant Trump would be demanding Fentanyl for the most minor aches and pains.
