Just listen to republicans who show up at town halls and listen to their constituents complaining about these cuts. These representatives don't show an ounce of concern, repeatedly lie, even disparage the people who speak up. They are afraid of being primaried, but they seem not to care at all that the people who voted for them won't vote for them again.
And now we hear about the fuzzy math they intend to use to hide their shenanigans. These are the people who want us to believe they care about fraud and abuse? Baloney
The point is the cruelty, I guess. Afflict the already afflicted in order to comfort the already comfortable, while lying and bamboozling the public about what's really going on and who it benefits. How does anybody fall for such a con?
Medical assistance is also used to support therapy services and case management for students with disabilities in the public schools (with parental permission). This will be a financial hit for school districts and impact outcomes for students/families.
Such a clear writing of what needs to be spread to everyone everywhere--very basic truth of the greediness of wealthy people who do not want to pay their fair share of taxes to help our nation and it's people.
Thanks Ezekiel. I liked this article. Puts the cuts and the consequences in perspective. Hopefully the damage can be spread around, but this is going to really hurt some people.
Ezekiel does a good job of personalizing who these cuts/ word games would actually effect. The story of Rachel and many more like her in similar situation must be a key part of explaining what is happening and why this dangerous. Ds too often lead with technical and deep policy "wonkie" talking points. They lose people quickly. Make the stories personal and explain what is going on in a way that the average can understand right away. If Ds connect actions with people and the consequences of those actions people will engage and you have allies to fight this fight.
And while DJT/Musk hollow out this and other agencies so they cannot be successful they also try to destroy American success overall ... which I think will weaken income for most Americans and thus exacerbate the increased deficits the tax cuts would create.
All of this at the same time the current administration is actively turning a blind eye to tax payer fraud, waste, and abuse by weakening the IRS.

Well, we would save more by covering more folks with Medicare ... not that I want to see any cuts at all, especially not with the chainsaw approach.

Surely there must be SOME very rich people who don’t want to grab everything at the expense of the elderly and disabled. It is all beyond distressing.
