I know that a lot of legal maneuvering was anticipated and in preparation for dealing with various issues per the campaign and Project 2025 information gleaned. Getting zapped by the media who is supposed to be enjoying freedom of the press caved and new media had to be created and step in. There's been some protesting, boycotting, etc. that should pick up as the weather gets better -- Wisconsinites were going door-to-door throughout the winter for the Supreme Court vote in April....

Good news. Compliments to the bravery of law firms who stepped up to defend their colleagues! Now let us all be brave as Judge Beryl Howell!!

Here’s to the lawyers and judges who will not take a knee and betray their oaths and duties. We see you!

Key words there, Donald Sinclair Richardson! They, unlike some others, haven't betrayed their oaths and duties!

That's great. But Trump is illegitimate. 14th Amendment, paragraph 3. Musk and DOGE are ultra vires. Plus he and all of his opertives are a threat to national security. Most probably, to any degree of probability, they are liars and imcopentent.

Trump was Putin's Manchurian candidate. Yesterday, he ordered DOD to plan for an invasion of Panama. Adventures in Greenland can break NATO. Attacks our most loyal and trusted allies, i.e. Canada, Mexico, UK, EU. Markets crashing. All to the benefit of Putin and to the detriment of our country.

Big march today in DC. Noon.

22 Republican senators and dozens of Republican House members voted to fund Ukraine. Some of them call Trump a liar.

When he put tariffs on China, they blocked sales of beef. The entire industry is in panic. So should 20 Republican senators that represent cow country. Even Rand Paul fears for the boubon industry and called out Trump.

I would like to point out that the "disappearing" of Mr. Khalil is quite similar to the actions that took place in the upside down Bible event. Specifically the treatment of the protesters in Lafayette Park. What happened was a clear violation of the protester's First Amendment rights yet the Dear Leader suffered no real consequences for it. I doubt that he will suffer any consequences from this either. How does that piece of crap always manage to weasel out of everything???

Here in Baghdad By the Sea, lots of violations of visas.

When they sent "violators" to Guatnamo, "a Miami Herald review of 18 cases found that six of the migrants appear to have no previous record, and an additional five were only charged with illegal entry into the U.S. and sentenced to time served. Several were detained during scheduled appointments with border authorities for those seeking asylum or legal entry, relatives of detainees said, or never spent time in the U.S. outside of detention. Only two were convicted of felonies – one for illegal reentry into the U.S. and the other for conspiracy to transport undocumented immigrants. Another faced felony charges for driving undocumented passengers and evading arrest but wasn’t convicted."

Thank you for all the up-to-date information!

These are all good news items; thank you for keeping us up-to-date. What a mess Trump and Musk have created in our democracy--thanks to the courts, some of it will be sorted out. My heart goes out to the thousands who are in whip lash about their jobs and careers. Where is the executive branch's empathy for the people it governs?!

Hopefully, many law firms will step up in these kind of cases. Americans need to feel that the courts are on top of the illegal government acts. And they need to rise up when they are attacked with illegal “ punishments” like these two have been.

I must humbly admit that I didn’t used to pay much attention when judges were on the ballot- not sure a lot of us did. I don’t know about others , but I certainly am going to do my due diligence NOW and pay attention as to who’s up for election, locally on up. Since the Supreme Court appointments have become so VERY important, and so terribly political, maybe it’s time for the way they are chosen to be changed. And certainly not have lifetime terms. That has definitely got to go!!

That's one reason why the Wisconsin Supreme Court election in April is so important as is the ongoing legal shenanigans by the Russian Republican loser who is trying to get 60,000 votes for his opponent thrown out (edited to include:) in the North Carolina Supreme Court race of a few months ago...

Here's some information from Democracy Docket about the NCSC race:

"Appeals court panel to hear North Carolina Supreme Court challenge

It’s been more than four months since voters cast their ballots in the highly contentious North Carolina state Supreme Court race. The election has yet to be certified, because Republican candidate Jefferson Griffin is suing to overturn the results, insisting that more than 60,000 votes be thrown out as illegitimate.

In the latest update, a 2-1 GOP-majority panel in the North Carolina Court of Appeals will hear Griffin’s case March 21. This comes almost a month after the North Carolina Supreme Court — the very court Griffin is seeking a seat on — denied his petition to bypass the appeals court and have the state’s highest court rule on the matter."

I am very glad that American legal system is alive and well. However, a Reuters article of March 14, 2:45pm, states that "President Donald Trump's administration is expected on Friday to move ahead with a second wave of mass firings and budget cuts across the U.S. government, just one day after two federal judges ordered the reinstatement of thousands of workers."

So what happens next? Who will be the enforcer?

Daniel Solomon's avatar

Unfortunately, he can direct the agencies to do reductions in force legally, which should slow him down, but will not cease until he is impeached. https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/workforce-restructuring/reductions-in-force-rif/

We've lived through a lot of these. My wife took an "early out" in 1997 under the Clinton administration "Reinventing Government." I remember the defunct ICC, Interstate Commerce Commission, axed by Carter.

We may nevef get another vote. Please read Feathers of Hope.

How many tax dollars are being spent to defend unconstitutional executive orders?

Yes, praise to judges with courage and integrity, after the obvious corruption of Judge Aileen Cannon, Clarence Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, Barrett, and Roberts in giving Trump a pass to get out jail free. Shame on the Democrats like Schumer without the strength to stand and up and fight tyranny.

KathieOC's avatar

Thank you for keep us informed. And may God bless the legal system fighting Trump’s tyranny.

This was an excellent collection of summations of what's been happening for people who were unable (for one reason or another) to read the original articles and reports. Taking legal steps are good, though real progress would be prosecutions for these violations. With the current makeup of the Department of Justice, this is unfortunately unlikely.

I have not read this article yet (I will do so later), I just want to register my very deep disappointment in traitor Chuck Schumer and his nine Democratic co-traitors. All 10 of you need to be primaried next time you're up and Chuck needs to be replaced posthaste. What a bunch of dumbass ball- and spine-less traitors. God, I am so mad at them, I could spit fire!

Extremely disappointing. Senate Ds need new leadership ASAP.
