While I agree that it is important to know who knew what when, I think it is much more important to finally see the names of the rich and powerful white boys club who obviously paid Epstein and ALL his helpers millions of $ to participate in this mass pedophile ring.

It is obvious that a pardon is in the works for Maxwell. The only conclusion that can possibly be drawn is that Trump is involved in the seamy mess that the files contain. He would not give cover to anyone else from exposure to the public. He has to be involved. Sadly, he will never be prosecuted for any of his crimes, so this is just so much fodder to add to the pile facts that define the flawed and corrupt life of Trump.

And...just imagine what would be Mike Johnson or Gym Jordan's reaction if Hunter Biden had been in the client lists instead of Trump. Oy!

nothing...they're probably on it also...

Just FYI, Jerry Sandusky was at Penn State, not "University of Ohio". There's Ohio State and Ohio University, but no University of Ohio.

Every American must and should have access to Ms. Rocah's above essay. This information is critical to the understanding of the entire Epstein/Maxwell heinous story. The unlawful interference of the current US DOJ is unacceptable. Responsible media must keep this in the forefront of the news, despite trump's efforts to distract otherwise; distractions such as an unwarrented investigation of former President Obama, sending nuclear submarines to the coast of Russia, or the federal takeover of our capital city to name a few.

This situation must be kept alive and fully investigated. Women of all ages have been abused by men in power, but sometimes the courts do give the victims satisfaction, as with EJean Carroll, and Stormy Daniels. With djt there is probably a long list of women of all different ages that were threatened and do not have the money to hire an attorney. What would the reaction be from any of the men involved if one of their daughters were abused? Raped? Why are they protecting Melania? She was a close friend of Ghislaine. Drag out every bit of information about this corrupt president and the wife that hates him.

Photos and videos of powerful men abusing children need to see the light of day in so far as the perpetrators are known to prosecutors. Surely the burden of proof would be achieved in such circumstances?

It's beyond hard to believe that Todd Blanche isn't involved in a hastily prepared cover up. Especially going himself as a Deputy AG without any on-the ground-prosecutor meeting with his good friend who just happens to be on the other side of the table representing Maxwell. Maxwell goes to Club Fed. Maybe gets a pardon next year. All is well. All is silent.

Excellent writing! Thanks!

Follow the money! It’ll show how many millions flowed to First Felon. Anyone else will be icing on the cake. Sen Wyden, investigate until your eyes can’t stand another minute (and then take a day off and then continue!). Anything that could be clawed back from this Thief should go to repay government’s debt (which will be twice as much as predicted just because he’s grifted so much more). Don’t stop!

We should be focusing on the victims. They should be interviewed instead of Gishlane, who is only testifying to save herself. Attention needs to be focused to these women who were abused and not listened to.

EXCELLENT points from Rocah!

I myself also applaud the "follow the money" efforts of Sen. Wyden mentioned by Rocah.

I would add that investigating why Maria Farmer‘s complaints to the FBI about Epstein and Trump in 1996 did not result in shutting him down at that time

Thank you for writing this excellent piece. It sounds like our best bet for ferreting out persons within law-enforcement and other enablers of these criminal behaviors lies with investigative journalists, as well as members of the house and Senate who have ways of digging deeper. As members of the public, we can keep encouraging and shining the light on things that need more investigation. Thank you again for this excellent summary.

I think true justice for the sexual abuse of minors is rare. There may be no prosecutions coming from a release of the files, and the abused girls (most of whom were compensated monetarily from Epstein’s millions I believe—no doubt with NDAs attached) are living in the present not the past. Childhood abuse survivors often go on to have good, if occasionally troubled lives. But shaming the malefactors and undermining their long-held sense of entitlement is a MUST.

I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist for reasons given by Benjamin Franklin over 250 years ago:

Three can keep a secret.....................if two of them are dead!

I may be the only person on earth who believes that Oswald acted alone.

But Epstein's "suicide" stinks to high heaven. Let's face it-- this is a guy who associated with some of the richest and most powerful people on earth, and was particularly involved with their dark and dirty sides. So if he started to squeal in exchange for a lighter sentence, the list of people with the motive and means/connections to silence him permanently was as long as a coast-to-coast bus ticket. So the guy committed suicide in a situation where he was being watched round-the-clock. Yeah, right.
