Jackie needed to mention about the Republicans asking the Dems to help keep the government open now and we'll do the deal later, we've been down this road before. The Democratic caucus had verbal agreements about funding healthcare and other programs back in March with the first looming shutdown, so with those agreements the Dems caved and keep it open, and the Republicans stabbed them in the back by gutting those things in the Recession Bills.
"Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again."
Finally, someone who is saying what needs to be said: EVERYONE'S premiums are increasing at least twofold, but more likely threefold next year, so the billionaire rulers of this country can get their tax cuts.
Why is Jacky Rosen taking AIPAC money? She is compromised, and is by extension advocating for the destruction of the Palestinian people by mindlessly supporting Israel. Why is The Contrarian so silent on this?!?
Rosen not only takes AIPAC money, but she has been a longtime stalwart support of Israel. She was one of the minority of Democratic Senators to refuse to sign the two bills to stop arming Israel a couple months ago, and she actually went to visit Netanyahu while the the genocide in Gaza was at peak levels this summer. She appeared in a smiling photo with the indicted war criminal when he visited the US just before that.
The Contrarian is (nearly) silent about everything to do with Israel. I am sure you have noticed.
There was a brief span this past summer when The Contrarian has a few critical articles of Israel, when it was 'in vogue' to note Israel's starvation of children...all that attention has now went away, in the mainstream media and by The Contrarian.
Even then, the criticism here was limited. I listed to several 'Coffee' session with Norm Eisen where he discussed Israel , and he never even said the word 'Palestinian' once.
Calling BS. This comment has been posted several times before. You keep saying exactly the same old thing over and over. It’s really stale and out-of-date and one-sided. And where are the links to that ‘list’ you’re so proud of?
There is no doubt that netanyahu and trump are war criminals responsible for starving and murdering children, for which there is absolutely no justification. The fascist trump regime and the fascist netanyahu regime are prolonging the war on purpose for too many selfish, heinous reasons to list, including actual genocide so they can build their ‘resort'. Both Norm and Jen have called this war what it is. Repeatedly. That said, where were you on 7 October 2023? Mass rape, torture, kidnap, and murder of Israelis — including children — by Palestinians.
There’s more than enough blame to go around and it’s the fault of all of them / us. Singling out Rosen shows your shallow, selective outrage is based on laziness, willful ignorance, and knee-jerk bigotry.
Your comment is so full of 'BS' and 'laziness' and 'willful ignorance' it will take a couple comments for me to respond to it all.
To start, I have not posted this comment before, and I have no idea what 'links' or 'list' you are talking about, and you don't say.
Then you post three links that you likely got from a quick search and did not read or listen to:
The first link is exactly what I was talking about. This summer Jennifer Rubin posted two focused articles about Gaza and Israel, at the same time when mainstream media in the US had a brief bit of focus specifically on starvation in Gaza. As I said, and as Rubin does here, that criticism was still very limited and conditioned, and almost entirely dropped off after that time, even though the genocide and starvation and violence has only gotten worse since then. Like almost everyone else in the Contrarian, she carefully avoids the 'g' word.
The second link, I actually read at the time (did you?), and commented on it. Goldenberg's very few pieces related to Israel mention next to nothing about Israel' actual war crimes in the West Bank and genocide in Gaza, and are couched in euphemism and misleading statements. I pointed out a few in those comments at the time.
The third link is another example of the fact that most of The Contrarian's commentary related to Israel has been buried in these interviews and 'Coffee' Conversations that far less people watch than Rubin and other's written articles. And as in most those other interviews, this one completely omits any real discussion of Israel's ongoing atrocities. This one discusses this so-called 'peace deal' as if it is anything more than a proposal to make Gaza permanently occupied by Israel with no chance of autonomy. They also add in a number of at best misleading statements. The guest comically mentions Tony Blair's involvement in the Iraq. War without any mention that Rubin herself was a fierce supporter of that war, even long after even most Republicans had realized what a disaster it was.
They do not discuss in any detail the fact that no Palestinian at all, not Hamas, not the PA, not anyone else, had anything whatsoever to do with the negotiation around this 'deal'. They both straight up lie by claiming Hamas has never wanted a ceasefire while just amazingly ignoring the fact that there was a ceasefire for months earlier this year, which Hamas was fully complying with, which Israel just unilaterally ended when it was apparent it would need to hold up its end for it to continue. They also ignore the many other times Israel completely thwarted other negotiations, and also ignore that even in this so-called 'deal' Israel completely changed their own terms even after some Arab countries had tentatively signed off.
In all of your links, and in The Contrarian in general, including many of its readers like you, there seems to be this perception that the 'murder of children' and the 'genocide' just started when Trump took office, when, obviously, Israel's genocide has been going on for many months under Biden, with full bipartisan support, outside a very few Democrats at that time. The monthly average death count of Palestinians was actually higher under Biden than under Trump. This is al obvious public record.
Now it is worse than ever, but you would not know this from reading The Contrarian. There has been nothing of Israel's brutal siege of Gaza City, nothing of Israel's attacks on the flotillas, nothing of its mass murder of journalists both in the Occupied Territories and in other countries (notably Yemen recently), and virtually nothing about the massive escalation of killings, abductions and land theft in the West Bank' let alone a thousand other horrors ignored by this outlet.
And, as many tacit defenders of Israel do, there seems to be a tack that all this just started in October 2023, when before that, Gaza was a peaceful autonomous country, left to its own by Israel, and The West Bank was also a peaceful place, and that the US was only interested in peace and the increasingly mythical 'two state solution'. To my knowledge,The Contrarian has never once mentioned the fact that the year before October 2023 was one of the deadliest years in the West Bank in decades, or that Gaza has been strangled under an illegal blockade of everything from livestock to toys to medicine for nearly two decades, or that Israel had already invaded Gaza several times and killed thousands there in the years before October (including only a year before under Biden). The Contrarian has largely ignored Israel's ongoing massacres, abductions and 'annexations' in the West Bank, which has zero to do with Hamas. The Contrarian, and many of its readers, are uninterested in the fact that Israel has been killing, maiming, abducting, torturing, raping, and brutalizing the stateless refugees it imprisons with no rights under its occupation for generations, since before Netanyahu was in power, since before Hamas existed, always with US support.
I'll comment about your 'BS' response concerning Rosen, including your link to that performative, meaningless letter and you likely did not read. Like Jeffries and Schumer and other 'moderate' Dems, she is a fan of the 'strongly worded letter'.
How can the democrats be at fault? They don’t control the house, senate, presidency, and arguably the Supreme Court. Oh - but the filibuster you say - they need Democratic votes to get to 60. No they don’t. Ever hear of the “nuclear option”? The Republicans have used it before to circumvent cloture. Nothing stops them from using it again. Dems should make it clear that Republicans COULD keep the govt open without the Dems if they had the Will to do so. I never hear this argument presented in the media - why not? Would I be sorry to see the filibuster go the way of the dodo? Not really.
"The true authors of this American calamity" are out in the open. They wrote and made public "Project 2025" long before the 2024 election and Trump made no bones to hide that he will come into office hell bent for revenge.
"WE the people" elected an Autocratic Fascist into the oval office and gave him FREE REIGN (by giving Republicans majorities in both houses) to destroy our democracy.
We have to learn to live with it as our children will have to, for decades to come.
We have allowed the destruction of American Democracy to take place "in a day".
The rebuilding of that democracy WILL SURELY take years (possibly a decade or more).
We all must know this and fight those now out in the open, for American Democracy to return.
Thank you, Senator Rosen! You have a wonderful spirit, a warmth and clarity - we are lucky to have you in the Senate. I hope the necessary bi-partisan work can actually begin now -that there will be a break-through of sorts. What we currently have is completely dysfunctional. I worry that an external event, a dangerous military event, will find our country woefully in disarray. These are tough times. Thank you for your service!
Oh, Jen, Jen — you are a treasure. And surely the all-time queen of understatement. trump and his slavish slobbering republicans have cried wolf too often and the Democrats don’t believe them any more. Even federal judges are calling out their BS and lies. Repeatedly and often.
Stuart Rojstaczer Substack says it best - the t regime is killing off Americans in regards to healthcare which includes children. Wake up America bc it’s nearly too late:

She did say that, several times, in fact.
Given that it is football season we Democrats do not need to emulate Lucy and Charlie Brown.
Haha! One of Bush’s best gaffes.
Finally, someone who is saying what needs to be said: EVERYONE'S premiums are increasing at least twofold, but more likely threefold next year, so the billionaire rulers of this country can get their tax cuts.
Thank you, Senator Rosen.
Every thing she said about Speaker Johnson is true. He bolts every time a gunshot goes off. It’s ridiculous.
WE MUST ALL GET THE TRUE INFORMATION OUT AND IN THE FACE OF EVERY AMERICAN.
The Repugs are owning the cyber air with misinformation and lies!!

One of the things you choose to continually leave out is that Sen Rosen has been a leader in the US effort to get humanitarian aid into Gaza.
