The Contrarian can reach many more readers than I can ever hope to have so I will post this short rant that I posted elsewhere and I doubt it got any attention.
I hate AI with a passion❗ There are many programmers that will program misinformation, and to keep this short, I asked the question "Is AI factual". So search for that question and you will find the answer that came up when I asked it.
SURPRISE❗ The first paragraph is this, so read the rest of it.
AI is not inherently factual and can generate information that is inaccurate, misleading, or entirely fabricated, a phenomenon known as "hallucination".
The problems America now finds itself immersed in is, in my humble opinion, the result of 10's of millions of voters who voted into the office of the President of the United States a shill who was (and still is) being run by the likes of Project 2025 author Russell Vought.
The newness and power of AI probably contributed to it for we still have not come to grips with AI's rapid growing power, but that is NO excuse for the 76 million that voted for him.
Oh, I definitely agree! I'm getting ready to put together a new post. It seems that the government does not want us to know about it. But the only answer I can find is from AI. I guess it depends on who the programmer is and evidently there are a very few that tell the truth.
Nothing mentions the advancement of Robotics, But that isn't always a blessing for millions of people. It is great for the handicapped, but not for the working class.
Robotics for example, in the past robotics put so many auto workers out of work, and laid off workers that did that job, and so many were unable to find jobs due to their age.
Now so many big grocery stores are using self checkout, I cannot imagine how many low wage earners checkout personnel are jobless. I refuse to shop in store where I have to stand in line to check out my own purchases.
No apology necessary. I detest AI and the way it is being rammed down our throats infuriates me. Here is my rant: AI encourages suicides, murders and social isolation; requires huge data centers that will employ few people and no one can live near because they are terribly noisy; requires many new power plants to serve the data centers will significantly increase air pollution and global warming emissions and are already driving up electricity costs; will eliminate millions of decent-paying jobs; and will transfer more wealth and power from normal people to tech billionaires. So why should we go along with this?
I usually ignore answers from AI. Sometimes they are right. And now Google is pushing Gemini, which I understand is an advanced AI. One just can’t get away from either one.
I have TrendMicro as my security on my computer and I run it every night, but they also warn me of possible email scams, and all links to my searches are highlighted in green letting me know that those sites are safe to open.
It is my opinion is that our democracy, if it still exists, is hanging on by a thread. The main thrust of the Trump administration has been to undermine the election process (through various endeavors, gerrymandering being only one way of many). We have foolishly given them all three branches of our government and, to make matters worse, we have allowed the corruption of the "Supreme Court", rendering it virtually useless.
It can be seen by even the most casual observer of politics in this country that we are now living in an Autocratic Fascist state. The things that are happening in America today (including murder) can be easily seen in numerous Fascist states throughout the world.
And things are definitely getting worse. Our lackadaisical ho-hum approach to getting him impeached and out of office is daily making it more and more difficult for America to reclaim its democracy.
Our children will surely want to know WHY??? Were there no patriots with a spine to stand up against them? Where has courage and morality gone? How can anyone stand tall with pride and salute what has taken place in the Trump Administration in 2025, the year of America's shame.
Take a good look at this articles picture and know with certainty that these people and their families will NOT be treated kindly by history. Think about the cross they and their family will carry into the future!
Trump is the most unscrupulous individual ever to head our government. The congress including the House and Senate both are just as bad. They are part of the reason why we are here.
