I had the good fortune to live in several cities with good public transportation at various points in my life, and my fitness level invariably improved as a result because I walked to and from the streetcar, subway station, or other transit hub. This doesn’t even take into account the physical freedom that a good public transportation system provides its users, giving the elderly, disabled, and others who lack access to or the ability to drive a means to venture out into the world. So short-sighted on every level.
Has anyone else noticed that almost everyone on this council is a really big, able-bodied man? No acknowledgement that athletic ability comes in many body types and sizes. And only two non-males?
