Racism was also part of the equation. People in this coutry cannot accept a women as POTUS nor someone is not white. I say this as a white man who voted for Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. The USA continues to be a racist nation; sometime overt and most times under the radar.
Patrick, this is exactly right. Everything leveled against Secretary Clinton was exponentially weaponized against VP Harris. And it’s cost us the chance of two excellent presidents.
The pig tore down the East Wing, home of the First Lady’s office. Guess their history wasn’t worth preserving. It was too important to get a monstrous ballroom.
The other image that galled me was the paving of the Rose Garden. He is so callous.
I actually wrote another piece about tearing down the east wing - it’s such a tragedy and a specific erasure of the role of First Ladies. Same with the rose garden, a beautiful piece of history pioneered by women in the White House.

Thank you Michelle!
