Check out the laws in El Salvador, where a woman can be sentenced to prison for homicide for suffering a miscarriage. And now sheriffs here say that when a woman has a miscarriage, rather than dealing with her own health, or the grief she may be suffering from losing a wanted pregnancy, she needs to deal with the authorities to be sure she won't be sent to jail. Pro tip: this is not how you encourage more procreation.

Unfortunately, the abortion fight is only one aspect of all the rights politicians (male and, incredibly, female) are wanting to take away from women. It is absolutely frightening how many women participate in taking down women to second class status. Just read Jen's "warrior" column on Hegseth yesterday.

State legislators should never be allowed to write legislation on pregnancy, miscarriage or any other medical condition. Fetuses, embryos and fertilized eggs are capable of self destructing on their own without any help from anyone as we already know. To criminalize pregnancy is the work of a psychopath. Pure and simple. An extremist bill that gets passed is likely the work of a religious fundamentalist whether of a Christian or non-Christian religion or not.

The idiot legislators who criminalize abortion pills: do they have any idea that one of those is used in diagnosing endometrial cancer in post-menopausal women?

Probably not. But if they do they probably think that's just collateral damage and the ends justify the means.

Ghouls, the whole lot of them.

And they outlaw D&Cs and the teaching of how to perform them. I know someone who had the placenta grow past the uterus, a condition with a 7% fatality rate. She had an emergency D&C done when her beloved baby was two weeks old to save her life: that unseen last bit of placenta, undelivered because of where it was hidden, was bleeding away heavily.

I'm trying to find where anti-women abortion restricters demonstrate support for the CHILDREN of forced births, when all I see are REDUCED benefits and opportunities for nutrition and education of children by those same "conservative" supporters. They just want fetuses to pop out and then go away?

With all due respect to the somber seriousness of this post...

I guess this is what trump meant when he said before the election that he'd protect all women. I guess what he didn't say was he'd protect women from having autonomy over their own bodies.
