NO pardons this time. We learned that the hard way with the Civil War.

In the beginning of this regime I tried to define and redefine the characteritics of this president: dishonest, greedy and cruel (among a few aspects). Now I think about a needed focus to keep the spirit of push-back strong. It seems that there are perhaps two broad elements, which appeal differently to different individuals, such as political elements (democracy, voting rights, due process rights, a non-functioning congress, etc) and the every-day direct impact (e.g., the cost of living, safety, government workers not being paid, unpayable insurance costs, loss of SNAP, etc, etc).

It is totally unacceptable to have a regime in charge which is madly cruel!

Thank you for today's program and reminding us, even when tired, giving up is unacceptable! Excellent program.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is in a same sex marriage. I wonder what he really thinks of his boss. I agree that we "see what's happening and are not accepting it anymore. And we got to look to the 36 million people that did not participate in the last election. And use this as an opportunity to get them in the fight." I agree that we should think of the future and "...be willing not only to fight for change, but to fix the institutions of democracy so that this cannot happen again."

All who want to know more about the Trump role in J6 should read Government's Motion for Immunity Determinations. Just read the first 25 pages and 83 (pardons) and you should get a pretty good idea and you can act like you are a juror in the trial that Trump is not likely to ever get. The top of the clearinghouse page has the Superseding Indictment - the charges that Trump faced after the second grand jury was convened because the Supreme Court effectively threw out the first indictment because it was against President Trump and he was ruled immune for presidential acts. The Motion asks the courts to determine if each of the actions that are named in it are in fact not immune. It is a long way from trial because it likely would have had the final decision made by the Supreme Court. Trump also is not likely to be mentally capable of standing trial when he leaves the White House, but he also is doing his best to make J6 into a church picnic as April suggested. We know it was terrorism even though Trump's Department of Injustice fired two attorneys who prosecuted a J6 "terrorist" for calling him a "terrorist" even though he responded to Trump's outing of President Obama's address and drove a truck full of weapons up into the area that the Secret Service was protecting with the on-line live stream that he intended to kill former President Obama. Watch Glenn Kirschner on Dean Obeidallah - https://deanobeidallah.substack.com/p/glenn-kirschner-slams-doj-for-suspending . New York University's School of Law Just Security site is the best site to read the indictment and the Motion - the links are on this same page - https://www.justsecurity.org/89122/clearinghouse-january-6th-election-interference-case-district-of-Columbia - read the Superseding Indictment and scroll down to the Motion - or just follow this https://bit.ly/4lEgn21.

It's important to understand the difference in issues for lesbians and gay men *and* trans identifying people. Young proto gay kids are being told they are born in the wrong bodies and must medicalize. That's a continuation of anti-gay conversion "therapy" now applied to kids. That's different from discrimination against trans identify adults in employment or housing. The HRC has sold out gay folks by forced teaming of all these populations
