I spent several years working in basic opioid research. I am acutely aware of the causes, effects and consequences of opioid abuse and of the reasons behind our failure to address these things effectively. The dropping of naloxone was appalling and ignorant, but then the actions of the Trump administration have been disastrous for science and human health pretty uniformly. The sooner they disappear from the scene, the better for the rest of us.

Surprise, surprise, surprise, the Felon and his incompetent Secretary of HHS are killing Americans.

From my viewpoint as a Nurse Practitioner, Felon 47's "policies" to eliminate funding for every department that helps people -- particularly those facing opioid addiction or other substance use disorders -- is simply eliminating help to those people and sitting on the sidelines while waiting for more people to die. They simply do not see any value in saving everyone -- just those who can support their cause to the fullest. It is indeed a dark day in our country.

And his draconian economic policies are a risk for recovering addicts.

Or, heaven forbid, children who come across those opioids and ingest them without understanding the ramifications. Family-centered? NOT!
