I find these discussions absolutely fascinating! Jen's questions are SO SHARP, and based on her superb knowledge of the law, and in-depth understanding of the case -- I don't know how many times during this webcast that, upon hearing her beautifully framed question, I thought, What a terrific question! And Andrew Weissmann, with his mild, genial manner and equanimity, manages to communicate so much nonverbally. His knowledge is utterly authoritative, and I especially appreciated his final thoughts, conveyed with a warm smile. He offered much needed hope! The two are national treasures!! And, their interchange was a delight!

Maybe people like Comey and others should sue tRump. Such bs it’s unthinkable.

You both are so delightful, even when discussing the most arcane of legal esoterica, and you both bring it down here where we pedestrians can see it clearly and understand the implications. Bravo!

Great questions, Jen; crystal clear explanations, Andrew! Great presentation, thank you.

Well, it was a Weissmann kind-of Wednesday for me! I agree with you 100% on the jam-packed “Main Justice”podcast, regarding Signalgate. What’s good for one investigation (Bolton) should also apply to Hegseth. Thank heavens Jeffrey Goldberg accidentally ended up on the recipient list or we probably would never have known about it. Your discussion with Jen Rubin on The Contrarian Substack and then with Ari Melber on MSNBC’s The Beat regarding the Comey case and the $230 million in DJT’s lawsuit were spot-on. Your point that the last thing he wants is to testify under oath was the reassurance I need right now as I watch the East Wing of the White House being torn down before our eyes. Many thanks for keeping us well engaged!

I enjoyed both of your responses to DJT signing off on a $230 mm payment to HIM, signed off by his previous defense attorneys,Todd Blanche and Pam Bonde, and paid by United States tax payers US!!! This guy has the ethical perspective of a Toddler, no offense to toddlers. He is a greedy, let’s say bottomless pit. He is living proof that money does NOT make one happy. What a clueless awful excuse of a human being.

The way Trump carries on, he's neither happy nor sane. A grasping, paranoid, vindictive, and nasty piece of work is closer to the mark.

Andrew Weissmann is the best of the best. Superb discussion!

RE: the $230 odd million: You can't make this stuff up. And, as a USA taxpayer, I could sure use a very small fraction of that, and I'm sure many others around here could.

Such asn excellent explainer, thank you so much!

I sure hope so, I hear he’s trying anyway he can to control the lower courts and install his favorite judges in these positions. Thanks.

Great discussion and thanks for the transcript. I usually try to make my way through the automatically generated ones and this was much easier!

Didn't Trump raise millions/billions of dollars in pity money during his trials?

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Why does Trump need to go through the technicality of a lawsuit? He takes what he wants anyway, so $250 million is a drop in the bucket. He can syphon it off of some of the tax break revenue that the wealthy and corporations don't need. They'll never miss it. The man's not too bright.

it is an incredible joy to read these conversations but for some of us, some parts are hard to follow. It would be even better if they could be annotated with short explanations of what the more artful perspectives mean in the broader sense.

But by all means, keep publishing these discussions.

The corrupt tRump/republican Supreme Court is controlled by Nazi nationalist fake Christians.  They are ethically and morally compromised.   They rule by a corruption of the emergency docket procedure. They follow precedent only if it supports their pseudo-Christian world view. They harm people and our nation with their corrupt practices.  The court must be restructured.
