Why does the OCF need a state-run television network? He already has Fox, CBS, Newsmax, OAN, Lindell TV and several more whose names I forget because I never watch any of them. Especially since I haven't had a television since 2017.
Hi AB. I guess I'm going back in time by HAVING a TV, but at least I don't have broadcast capability. I watch what i choose. But many times in my life I chose not to have a television. I listened to music and live radio, and read books aloud as entertainment. I am prepared to do that again should the thieves who just stole that merger tell me what to watch. Streaming has gotten worse anyway, but I'll always have books.
Hi KKG, you know, I can honestly say there have been very few occasions when I missed being able to watch something on live TV, but at the moment I can't even remember them, so it couldn't have been all that important after all.
I also used to watch a lot of sports, but since it has become a billionaire playground, it's no fun anymore. Way too many commercials and NBC has turned me off Olympic watching decades ago.
I read a lot of books, all the Substack sites I subscribe to and anymore, AP is my daily news and sports site. I also stream some documentaries and some old, old TV shows and movies, if I can find them on my streaming service.
I'm hoping Jen will bring her Monday talks with Pablo Torre back.
Agree on the sports plus the rest. I do pay to watch baseball, which pains me as someone who grew up watching every single Cubs game for free on WGN. The ads paid them, and now that is not enough. It's awful, and if one of my teams gets into the playoffs or world series, the extortion is even higher.
I also quit watching the Olympics, which used to be a joy. How much more can the robber barons steal from out lives? What will kids have as memories--gee, I remember scrolling past that on my phone?
Yes to Pablo T.; the most articulate sports dude I've ever seen.
Thanks for this and all your other cogent reporting, April. How else can we get the truth in this crazy political phase? (I feel like I'm on a first-name basis with all you Contrarians!)
Mister wins because he knows the pace of the courts will stymie y'all. I read that the AP lawsuit back from the "Gulf of America" fiasco (remember way back then?) is still pending in the courts. The press will have to take this into their own hands and hit him where it hurts.
But as Don Lemon says, just cutting off coverage opens the door to more and more covert action and corruption by him. It's terrifying. So the press needs to thread the needle, still doing their legwork but not giving him the spotlight he craves.
They are just about all becoming propaganda news outlets similar to what was in the former Soviet Union. I recall Pravda it was the communist party newspaper and there was a single broadcast news outlet. That’s what they want.

"...Trump launched a new state-run television platform that will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, pushing his old and new announcements."
So, Pravda?
