I might disagree with you slightly on only one small but not-insignificant point: since Trump took office for his second term, I believe that there has been a huge crime wave ... in DC, but more specifically, the source of crime has been located in the White House. Crime and corruption, Constitutional and civil rights abuses are up exponentially. :-)

I was going to make a similar comment. Trump has shown how "emergency powers" can be abused. There is presently no indications of how "emergencies" are defined. Laws must be amended so that someone (or a group) must concur before the president can declare an emergency.
"Emergency" is defined in dictionaries galore. The definitions include something unexpected and something requiring immediate action. The courts ignore this. Since Trump can ignore the definition of this word, why can't he ignore the definition of any other word, or for that matter, every word?
What I don't understand is thru everything that comes out of the PINO TACO leader's mouth he is never asked to present any evidence of those claims? Why is that? I find that even more unbelievable!
All of the objective reporters steeped in journalism have already been removed from the White House press room. What is left is a softball game - questions that will not offend.
There have to be some reasonable criteria for determining what is an emergency beyond the ravings of a lunatic who believes himself to be always a victim. The emergency is behind the fence and doors of the White House, not the streets of Washington, D.C., which the local police were dealing with quite well without presidential interference.
The fact that DC's downward trend began almost as soon as Biden took office didn't stop Baghdad Barbie from going on Fox to give credit to Don the Con. At least she admitted that crime is down.
