Our country is threatened by a Nazi inspired man-child with thin skin. The courts must put a stop to these relentless attacks on the First Amendment. We all must exercise our privilege to vote in the Midterms to put a stop to this shameful behavior.
More important, we need to go against the man behind the screen, Russel Vought, currently head of OMB. Vought has the brains that tRump lacks, wrote much of Project 2025, and has no qualms about ending necessary or useful government programs that millions of citizens rely on.
Jennifer, this is alarming and your reporting is important. I have not seen local news coverage about this in Chicago. I've seen the Channel 7 self-defense commercial, but I hope this is being covered by both newspapers (and Channel 2 and 5 should be doing features - because they could be the next targets).
I wish ABC owned and operated the station in the Washington, DC market. It used to have a wonderful news team. Now the station is owned by Sinclair News and spews Fox like propaganda.

The greater his destruction of societal norms the more difficult it is for Americans to "pretend" there is no problem. Silencing the news media is Fascism 101 - staring them right in the face.😳 🚩🚩And so Trump's approval continues to decline and the % of "likely voters in the 2026 midterms who intend to vote for Democrats increases."
ABC 7 in New York City is also under fire. I’ve tried several times to submit a comment from the QR code they post but haven’t been able to…makes me wonder if something “funny” is going on.

Keep WLS-TV on the air in Chicago. It serves the community admirably and has done so for over 70 years. Our Constitution protects free speech through the First Amendment. This means the FCC cannot shut down a media outlet for exercising the right to free speech. The Chicago community needs ABC to keep it informed, safe, and connected. To be clear, as a community member who has lived in Chicago for over 25 years, I fully support the continuation of ABC7’s license to serve Chicago for the foreseeable future.

Sinclair might be even worse than Fox. I refuse to watch any Sinclair-owned station. Their commentary makes my skin crawl.
