The Trump doctrine during War and Peace.."Do what I say or we'll kill you".

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Russ's avatar

This is not "Operation Epic Fury", but is "Operation Forgetting Epstein".

Frederick J Frahm's avatar

Funny thing though, this I’ll-conceived war convinces me that Trump is desperate to divert attention from his Epstein problem and for significant bombshell type reasons.

Before he can get the unfit for Surgeon General, approved, please see this petition. Maybe he thinks the approval will slip though while war is foremost in our minds.

🚩Now here is an urgent petition I hope you will read, sign, and share widely.

This petition is important!

While there is still a bit of time, I am sharing this petition to prevent approval of D. T.’s unfit choice for Surgeon General.

🚩Here is a petition from Move On to stop Donald J. Trump’s choice of Casey Means from being approved as Surgeon General.

🚩To know more about Casey Means, here is a site: https://people.com/casey-means-everything-to-know-11914045

The bombings will continue until morale improves.

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

Whose morale is going to be improved by continued bombings? I just heard about the torpedoed Iranian battleship, and suddenly don't feel like breakfast.

Steve 218's avatar

That being the case, Trump's morale (but not morals) should improve exponentially.

Hiro's avatar

"He has betrayed every voter who believed him." I must say that voters should blame themselves realizing that they are naive in believing him. From the beginning of Trump I, it was so clear that what he says cannot be trusted.

LiverpoolFCfan's avatar

"Netanyahu has unsuccessfully hounded presidents for decades to go to war, seeking to bomb Iran; only Trump took the bait. If we outsourced our foreign policy to another country, that would be an even greater constitutional calamity."

Great. So now we have two narcissist criminals who want to be kings that rule instead of leaders who govern.

Wish we could drop them both off on the steps of the International Criminal Court at the Hague and let the prosecutors there "supervise" them till they go on trial for their latest crimes.

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

Hello Liverpool - I really like that last idea.

Russ's avatar

It would be easy with Trump. Just tell him they have something special just for him at The Hague and he will go in a flash.

The message has to be that Democrats will protect the middle class from the predations of the rich. And then really do it. The rich are picking our pockets yet again and the Republicans are on their side. Trump is one of them. The evidence is mountainous. They will try to divert us with side issues and Dems must not allow that to succeed this time.

patricia's avatar

my friend sent me a good reply to use on MAGA friends and family : There are two types of trump supporters: Billionaires and idiots...Check tour bank account and see which one you are

LiverpoolFCfan's avatar

"Democrats will not win sufficient votes to implement the War Powers Act or cut off funding, but they must force every Republican to go on the record. "

Another reason why we must win the mid-terms, so we can force Republicans onto the public record of where they stand on these multiple lawless actions. Then their constituents will judge them in their next elections.

Tom Pod's avatar

They believe that they can bring about the “end times” as stated in the Military Religious Freedom Foundation’s report yesterday:

https://www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org/2026/03/mrff-inundated-with-complaints-of-gleeful-commanders-telling-troops-iran-war-is-part-of-gods-divine-plan-to-usher-in-the-return-of-jesus-christ/

Our military members are reporting that they are told it’s “part of god’s plan”. The report is a chilling reminder of hegseth gone wild.

they better hope they're not standing around if Jesus does come back, because he is so gonna' pharisees in the temple them !

Tom Pod's avatar

They have no idea who they are messing with!

Also see sheep and goats. Matthew 25: 31-45.

Sarah Ziems's avatar

It’s like having Heaven’s Gate in charge of the Defense Department.

Sarah Ziems's avatar

I read that and found it deeply disturbing and terrifying. How many commanders believe this crap? Someone said their commander was quoting from the book of Revelations. Someone said they are all gleeful about bringing on the end times.

donna woodward's avatar

I'd like them to gather in one room and have the end times brought about.

Sarah Ziems's avatar

LOL Knowing them, it’s really not out of the question.

Sarah Ziems's avatar

Or around April 30, 1945-ish people were gathering in bunkers, etc.

Patricia Cooper Baker's avatar

They should read a few more verses, like the one that says no one knows when those times will be.

nmgirl's avatar

Some people are questioning this story and it worries me that Mikey is not responding. Because MRFF protects soldier's identity, it is hard for anyone else to confirm the complaints or their source.

Hubert Thomason's avatar

Always good to question but in this case we have a known public foundation with a limited mission engaged investigating a known phenomenon that has plagued us forever: the separation of church from state. There have always been complaints by soldiers when their leaders and commanders ‘preach’ to them. What really got my attention here was the spike in claims - the change, aka “delta”, is what to watch for in many complex situations. It’s like the very useful adage, “follow the money (when it changes hands).” When a change is detected it should stimulate the curious mind to ask not just why, but ‘why now.’ So in this case, with the illegal Iran war, we have a reported spike in complaints suggesting some military leaders and commanders feel the need to expand their mission to include facilitating a Christian fundamentalist end-times prophecy. This is potentially a MAJOR CAUSE FOR CONCERN as we citizens attempt to understand the justifications for allowing our most loved and precious treasure - our young men and women - to enter combat unapproved by the American people or their legislators where they may die or be injured. Is greasing the wheels of an end-times made-up prophecy part of our military mission in Iran? It better not be!

even if it's not true evans SOOO want to be around for the rapture

Elizabeth Stork's avatar

This is always such a stupid idea. If they believe God is bigger than people and God has a plan, why would some people who start a war be able to force God’s hand?

We were in ongoing negotiations with Iran. Our president decided the negotiations were unlikely to result in the outcome he desired. He launched a preemptive strike against Iran. Now look back to 1941. It is December. We are in discussions with Japanese negotiators. Who launched a preemptive strike against whom? In the current state of affairs we look like Japan in 1941. Not a pretty picture in my mind. Rich S, Octogenarian and Contrarian

Leigh Horne's avatar

Another way to make our point could be to remind everyone that this is exactly why we decided 250 years ago that we would no longer tolerate the bad decisions of a King, the consequences of which never fail to fall on the shoulders of his subjects. One salient example this tis Charles I, the first British King ever executed on the order of Parliament. His crimes all fell under the rubric of Tyranny and included unjust, onerous taxation and the draft of unwilling soldiers for the purpose of waging capricious foreign wars. No one could say no, until they finally did, with grim gusto.

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

You are absolutely right of course and well said. But you’re expecting the American public who knows little or nothing about history. Except that they parrot some “patriotic” cliché’s when it suits their purpose, not even understanding where it came from.

Leigh Horne's avatar

One of the many things that tempts me toward depression is the level of ignorance most of us suffer from. It's a relative thing, ignorance. For one, I know something about the behavioral sciences because of my career as a therapist, a little about horticulture because I love to garden, & a little about international cooking, having lived for a while overseas. Less about history, although I'm a fan and an inveterate anglophile. But if you asked me a question about rocket science: crickets. I suspect that even most educated people are a patchwork in terms of knowledge. Nonetheless, a tasty bit from the past might still have some power to move us. Such is life. Making suggestions has been part of my life story and is something like my 'widow's mite,' so I keep making them. We do what we can, because not to do would be unthinkable. People parrot slogans because they are scared to death and seeking any port in a storm. The worst thing about the current situation isn't their lack of information, but their susceptibility to cynical manipulation.

Karen's avatar

Yes, Trump's lies and actions should be a part of the dems message. HOWEVER, a positive message of what dems will do is critical.

Sandi's avatar

I agree with you 110%. The Dems have to tell us what they will do--clearly & with positivity. I don't want to hear how horrible the Republicans are---I already know that.

Jim Miller's avatar

Thus far, The Con's actions against other countries and our Constitution is the equivalence of his infamous statement back in January of 2016. . .

“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters,”

Don't let him get away with any of this.

Steve 218's avatar

But he is beginning to lose voters. His flock is becoming disenchated. Trump has not kept promises to them. Trump has inflicted greater financial suffering on many of them. At least some are becoming disgruntled and angry.

Sue's avatar

Michael Woolfe is a pretty seedy character, but he does know Trump's mind, such as it is. Trump wanted a win. He never thought through how he was going to win, he just thought "The U.S. has the bombs, the aircraft carriers and the troops, we're stronger, we'll win and I'll be a hero." He's probably already printed the "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Robert Lastick's avatar

Unbelievably stupid and completely Narcissistic and Self Serving. America will never live down putting him in the oval office.

And those who stood proudly up with him and voted for him?

My son was one of them. Don't hear much from him any more. He moved to Texas.

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

"Mission Accomplished" - no, that's already been used, and we know what happened then. How about "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Donald J Trump, President of the United States."

Cindy Schaufenbuel's avatar

Why do you say Michael Wolfe is “seedy?”

Michelle Jordan's avatar

Going into a war without any forethought is as reckless as it gets. Trump does things just to see what he can get out of it. What is he getting from the Israeli government if he forced a deal with them? Is this war simply a deflection from every other disastrous policy decision he’s made or is this about something deeper?

patricia's avatar

it's about real estate...who sends builder and real estate guys to negotiate nuclear weapons ?? !!! Also, everyone has probably seen the modern city rendering of Gaza City...

Sandy S's avatar

Who elects a president that has ssoooooo many failed businesses and run sooooooooooo many fraudulent scams???????? And been caught doing them and worse. If we don't educate our citizens to have better critical thinking than 'we' have now, there is little hope to right this failed state.

Steve 218's avatar

Right. Schools: Go back to teaching courses in Civics & Government.

Media: Retrurn to being the free press and return to keeping us informed about what we need to know to make good decisions.

I so agree Steve! When I was young the masses of the world, wanted what we had!!! A Democracy that gave voice to the people. But we were a young Democracy and became lazy about defending it from crooks. Now we have to get busy and start shoring things up if we are going to save it. Classes in Civics and Critical Thinking, before AI would be my suggestion. :-)

Steve 218's avatar

And a good suggestion it is.

Trump and this Administration is actively trying to and looking for ways to suppress the vote (and how it is counted) in the upcoming elections. They have election deniers working in the government. Organizations such as Marc Elias's https://www.democracydocket.com/ and others in court constantly fighting against these actions. They need whatever support people can give them.

Jason's avatar

Corbin Trent said this on Substack:

“ Look at Jeffries’ actual words after the strikes. He said Iran “must be aggressively confronted for its human rights violations, nuclear ambitions, support of terrorism and the threat it poses to our allies.” His only problem is that Trump didn’t fill out the right paperwork first. That’s not opposition. That’s proofreading.”

Anne Pierce's avatar

Jeffries did not say that Trump needed to start an illegal, unconstitutional war to accomplish those things.

Jason's avatar

Here’s the full quote:

“Iran is a bad actor and must be aggressively confronted for its human rights violations, nuclear ambitions, support of terrorism and the threat it poses to our allies like Israel and Jordan in the region” but he added that outside of “exigent circumstances” the president “must seek authorization for the preemptive use of military force that constitutes an act of war.”

Far from a strong condemnation.

I would like to see more direct and unambiguous condemnation of the blatant violation of international law, killing over 1000 people already, and siding with a country that has committed genocide.

patricia's avatar

trump is also a bad actor...

Jason's avatar

no kidding.

Jason's avatar

All Jeffries said, in this and other comments, is little more than “you should have asked us first.”

Steve 218's avatar

More troubling still is the standing ovation our Democratic leaders gave to Trump during the State of the Union address when he spoke about attacking Iran.

Jason's avatar

Ugh, yes, even 'progressives' like Warren were standing.

And, did everyone forget schumer actually egging on Trump last summer for negotiating with Iran?

Schumer in June: "When it comes to negotiating with the terrorist government of Iran, Trump’s all over the lot. One day he sounds tough, the next day he’s backing off...If TACO Trump is already folding on Iran, the American people need to know about it."

Steve 218's avatar

Senator Chris Van Hollen would do a far better job in that position than Schumer.

Robert Lastick's avatar

I think I am beginning to understand what has been going on during the Trump years and it IS NOT pretty.

So much for closing ones eyes and voting for a fool.

Chris Dortch's avatar

The Democrats had plenty of talking points before, but this should do him in for good. But I fear the GOP will try to muck up elections as they did in Texas last night. DEMOCRATS have to stay vigilant. We must fight voter suppression so we can neuter this maniac in less than a year. Then he can be impeached again. Who knows, his eff-ups might be so egregious by then, we might be able to get 60 votes in the Senate to finally impeach him.

Anne Pierce's avatar

I think we need 67 votes in the Senate to convict him. Impeachment in the House only requires a simple majority there. He can have the distinction of being the only President to be impeached three times (and, we hope, convicted once).

Steve 218's avatar

"The Democrats had plenty of talking points before, but this should do him in for good." We keep aaying (fill in the blank) will be the last straw, and the demented energizer bunny keeps going.

Chris Dortch's avatar

True, but it's only because of one corrupt judge in Florida and three bought-off judges in SCOTUS. And I've heard some dark, demented things about the Epstein files. The worst of Trump, as bad as we've seen, hasn't even come to light yet. He's about to become politcal poison.

Steve 218's avatar

And the sooner the better. Release the files, redacted only for the names of the victims. If the cover-up is bad, the crimes must be far worse.

Angie's avatar

We're at war in part because there is evidence that Trump r*ped a 13 year old girl. If we stop pursuing that, it will all have been worth it to him. He and Bibi were both headed to prison. Now they're trying to murder us all.

Steve 218's avatar

We are now in the grips of two war criminals. How could this come to a good end?
