Just before the first Trump administration I started reducing the size of my library starting with the Civil War (it was over, right?) and World War II (the allies won, right?). Lately I have been restoring volumes I had sold off about the rise of Hitler and his Lieutenants because the playbook of the MAGA regime has been eerily similar. No historical period is an exact match to another, but one thing that is matching is the lust for personal enrichment and punishing those not liked by the regime. That there are individuals willing to buck the desires of the tyrant and his sycophants shines a light of hope in our dimming future.

Heather documents that members of Trump’s inner circle, including Michael Flynn and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, hatched a plan for a joint U.S.-Russian project to build nuclear power plants in Saudi Arabia.
