I believe one could say much the same about the coverage of trump. The memes have Barack Obama saying can you imagine what the headlines would have been if I had done this. Exactly. And mainstream coverage of Joe Biden's disintegrating health was relentless. Now we have this president who has bullied his way to an almost free ticket for his lies, his grift, his tackiness!
As I see it the Contrarian and Heather Cox Richardson are among the few who have posted or reported on these. Admittedly, I haven't subscribed to every news outlet doing its part to keep truth on the front page.
I think nobody asks “Where’s JD” because we don’t actually want to see him. He is a terrible person and people can just keep reporting on the things he does and says, when he does something, which will undisputedly be ‘bad’.
Vance offers 100% of what Trump needs = direct line to Kevin Roberts and Peter Thiel and Musk (he's still relevant) and other members of the broligarchy.
We all know far more about Vance's vacation habits than about Kamala Harris's or Biden's when he was VP. That's the only thing Vance does that makes news. (Also, he is the inspiration for some very sturdy memes that will stand the test of time.)
Privileging white male Christians is what they're doing--they should just call it that. They can't win so they cheat. They don't measure up so they tilt the already highly compromised system further toward themselves.

I'm not sure that comparing Harris and Vance does any good. I think it's best to concentrate on Mr. Vance whenever he's involved in policy making and execution so that Americans are aware of the 2nd man on the ticket, especially if he harbors greater aspirations of office. Tell us about his beliefs, his desired policies, his actions.
I can't disagree with the MANY good points made in the article.
But I think Vance can be criticized from many, many completely VALID angles. There is little need to resort to methods that were unfairly directed at Harris.
