On 7/16/26 Trump addressed the nation in a scare speech filled with widely debunked claims of foreign interference in our 2020 election. Many suspect the actual motive for the speech was to lay the foundation for Trump to declare an emergency during the midterm elections and send in Federal troops or ICE to seize voting machines.
If (when) this happens who can stop it? Trump and Hegseth purged the officer corps of any officers that have the temerity to question Trump’s commands. And ICE was constructed as Trump’s private militia. Lawsuits, even if effective, are way too late. Can, and would, local police forces resist this federal assault? Would governors dispatch the national guard to protect polling places from federal troops?
This seems like a serious dilemma. When the executive branch attacks the fundamental plank of the Constitution fair elections, and the courts can’t protect it, who is there?
It's always something with p47, but I believe his Middle East fiasco, its costs, both in rising inflation and military lives, will be his Achilles' heel. He is already laying the foundation for JD Hillbilly and Little Marco to take the fall when it's all said and done. Should he try to "secure" the midterms, there will be a true revolt, especially among his staunch MAGA supporters.
