Thank you for compiling these viewpoints for us. LULAC’s stood out to me—well stated. Every white person like me who is stunned and depressed by the court’s decision can make a difference by supporting the voices of the people that Republicans want to silence.
Knowing this was coming doesn’t make it less infuriating or depressing. However, they just pushed me to donate to democratic campaigns in red states. Check out Every State Blue, which aims to fund democratic candidates in every red district in Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee, not just the ones the Democratic establishment thinks will win. It’s the principle of the thing: no election should go uncontested which happens too often in Missouri and Arkansas. And call your rep and senator and let the know this is important to you. Now is the time to fight.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries can just sit down; he raises his voice & talks like he cares about his constituency, but he is a very ineffective leader. He doesn’t bother to whip votes for important bills, & he refuses to break from aipac money, even actively hiding it. I can’t stand him & I wish people would promote the Progressive who is running against him in the primary.
Why don’t you guys have Vance Bostic on your show?
Here's a novel idea - create districts without regard to race, age, gender, etc., or even political affiliation. Get a map, population totals by at least county and metropolitan areas, county and city boundaries, and let a computer come up with something. No biases allowed.
And for the future...have each state's House and Senate members (except for party leaders) sit together in their respective chambers instead of being separated by party affiliation.
I'm not talking about using AI, just the simplest program possible with the minimum information needed (as noted above) to get as biased-free districting as possible.
Or, just take ten random people from across the state and give them a week. It couldn't turn out any worse than what we're getting now...
"Pretending that racism & misogyny doesn’t exist doesn’t work."
The decision said that districts could not be made for reasons of race (if I have that right). I would like to have districts drawn up that are completely blind to any grouping, especially ones drawn up by political ideology.

Roberts has shown his true colors. So has Alito and the others.

LLMs are fed information by biased humans, surely you’ve heard about the racist bullshit spit out by Elon Musk’s version of ai???
Remember separate but equal schools? Pretending that racism & misogyny doesn’t exist doesn’t work.

Well, that would be the ideal.
