Thank you so much for this post. It truly is a call to action. Our Constitution must apply to all, or it applies to no one, in the end. All means everyone—citizen or non-citizen, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, etc.

Only We the People can save ourselves. It’s up to us.

Thank you for calling out these individual acts of bravery in defense of fellow human beings.

FF47 has endorsed lawlessness. So we must depend on the judicial system to keep democracy intact and alive. Republicans including those who call themselves conservatives have also endorsed fascism. Unless We the People stand up and make a hell of a lot of noise and refuse to vote for these people along with massive protests nothing will ever change.

Since even the security people protecting(?) Senator Padilla turned out to be cowards, how can we expect the rest of the congress to be brave? They have now seen that their protection is a sham.

Hopefully, bravery in confronting evil will continue growing among the masses, and one person at a time, we can reclaim our freedom. Thank you! Especially to the brave who are unrecognized. Bravery manifests itself in many forms. You can feel pride in yourselves.

It's ironic that those who ran on the public trust have abandoned their Constitutional oath. It never occurred to them that the job might entail courage, just as serving in the military does. We hear cries about rising political violence from people unwilling to address rising violence dealt to peaceful citizens.

Every single instance of ICE terrorism is as great a human threat as any directed at elected officials. Yet somehow their lives, their unfinished jobs, are so much more important than those of ordinary citizens, many of whom display greater integrity, a firmer work ethic, and more fealty to a democratic society than the Congressfolk who have abdicated their duties. And to the Democrats of integrity, I ask for displays of solidarity--very public, very forward, and louder than any maga can muster.

The links in this post are horrifying. It's one thing to hear about the corruption of ICE, but such a terrible thing to see and hear it. Thank you for this post. I sometimes teach immigrants in a school that supports adult students, and I wonder what I would do if ICE showed up in the school, or outside, to terrorize our students. I like to think that I would be brave. You never know what you can do until it happens to you. I'm looking forward to a time when these people will be unmasked, de-weaponed, and treated the same way that they are treating innocent human beings.

If that is the only way to stop ICE, can't we start a pledge to step in when we see them take people?. To stop the impossibly evil woman that's head of HLS?

Apparently increasing numbers of ICE agents are feeling demoralized.

Just like increasing numbers of IDK are committing suicide.

— thanks, Trump & Netanyahoo !!

It’s so important to highlight the very brave people choosing to do the right thing. The lack of human decency is the line in the sand we must draw between us and them.

We have to be the leaders we want to see. Eventually, politicians will jump in front of the bandwagon we get rolling.
