The YouTube star popular with preschoolers has been speaking up about the suffering of children in Gaza. The message is resonating with her grown-up fans.
Ms Rachel's stance on Gaza is commendable. She also only scratches the surface of the atrocities committed by Israel, but that's not her job.
It's the duty of media outlets like this one to dig deeper.
It's telling, but not surprising, that The Contrarian would feature someone with a 'wholesome persona', a 'white, married, Christian mother of two' whose criticism of Israel's genocide has been focused on its aid blockade and its impact on children, much like The Contrarian itself. The Contrarian has never once featured a Palestinian voice.
In several articles about the subject over the past few weeks (although the postings have dramatically trickled off recently), The Contrarian has barely mentioned that in addition to intentionally starving the population, which has been going on for many months, the IDF has been openly massacring starving, unarmed civilians every single days for months at 'aid' sites.
Israel has killed 20,000 children in Gaza in the past 22 months, and maimed tens of thousands more. Israel has killed several hundred children in the West Bank in the same time period. The massive pain and suffering Israel has inflicted on Palestinian children in the Occupied Territories is incalculable.
The Contrarian has not mentioned once that governments, human rights organization and genocide scholars around the world, including many in Israel, have affirmed that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Recently even the US 'liberal Zionist' advocacy group J Street has now come to the same conclusion. In this article, it's only mentioned that Ms Rachel doesn't discuss 'genocide'.
...Or the signed statement form over 100+ doctors and health care works who have been active in Gaza, who are starving to death themselves as they try to save lies in the few remaining partially functioning hospitals: https://zeteo.com/p/exclusive-100-doctors-who-worked
This article mentions a child double amputee in Gaza. It does not mention that Gaza has more child amputees than anywhere else in the entire world, all due to Israel's genocide onslaught.
For many month, The Contrarian did not mention Gaza at all. Now that it has, its become clear that it's coverage of Israel's crimes and the US full complicity on those crimes will be extremely limited and conditioned in scope, to the point of being misleading.
What a blessing Miss Rachel is! Thank you for having her.
Miss Rachel, thank you for all you do for the children and for sharing your appreciation and some details about the wonderful, unduplicated, and inspiring Mr. Rogers. I know he would be so proud of you. The whole world should be proud of you for the help and the hope you give where it is desperately needed! The goodness of your heart is obvious!
Bless Ms Rachel
Love, Ms Rachel ❤️
Very inspiring. "What the world needs now, is love sweet love, that's the only thing that there's much too little of."

The Contrarian might consider mentioning the condemnation given just in the past few days by a list of journalist organizations for Israel's continuing assassinations of journalists: https://cpj.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Joint-letter-to-end-the-forced-starvation-and-targeted-killing-of-journalists-in-Gaza.pdf...you might hope a journalism outlet might mention that Israel has killed more journalists than in another other conflict in generations, anywhere.
