If you are a Subscriber, it will be available after the event for you to watch at your leisure! Thanks

I have the same question! Really wish I could attend.

I just joined Contrarian! Where can I watch the event?

Cannot wait to watch this event. The integrity and strength of the fourth estate gained enormously when The Contrarian came to life.

What a lineup! Can’t wait.

I'm rearranging my work schedule to catch the whole thing. This promises to be right up there with the 2020 Democratic National Convention, an event that made me proud to be American again. Can't wait.

I watched, and I'm glad I did. I truly enjoyed the panel format, and the quality of the guests. I appreciate all of Jen's and Norm's work in putting everything together and getting first-rate speakers. I hope there will be transcripts, because my memory isn’t as good as it used to be.

Liz Schuler, president of the AFL-CIO, made an excellent presentation about the importance of unions in reclaiming our democracy. It was quite a difference than Chuck Schumer's statement in 2016, when he declared, “For every blue-collar Democrat we lose in western Pennsylvania, we will pick up two moderate Republicans in the suburbs in Philadelphia, and you can repeat that in Ohio and Illinois and Wisconsin.” Clearly, we need to determine which democratic leaders are pursuing the same agenda that we are, and who will help us win in 2026.

Norm's legal panel was outstanding, and it heartened me. I learned some new information about the economy from Neera Tanden, and Jared Bernstein, but wished they had covered market manipulation and insider trading, and if there is anything being done about it. I enjoyed the media panel, although I would have liked to know more about what Jim Acosta thinks his impact will be on Substack as opposed to CNN, but I was delighted to see Katie Phang (who's new here), and Brian Tyler Cohen, whom I like.

In Jen’s last panel, I missed the introductions of Vanita Gupta and Asha Rangappa) and the topic, and only heard some of what was discussed, but that's on me. And perhaps I also missed Sherrilyn Ifill, who is always wonderful. The last panel, with Michael Tomasky, and featuring Maria Teresa Kumar and Maya Wiley (both of whom I like), was informational; they're both contributing in important ways to voting rights, which is a critical issue. The only addition I would have liked, was a summary at the end, but I'm sure Jen or Norm will provide one in writing.

I think between here and YouTube, I heard everything but the closing remarks. Could you please find a way to post them here? Thank you!

Sherrilyn Ifill was incredible. Honest words about the American electorate that needs to be reckoned with.

This conference is so informative! Thank you!

Did anyone else see the gross promotion of the Trump "interview" in The Atlantic? Sure, they talked about the weirdness of it all, but in the end, they elevated the man--with their photo, with the story placement, with the story length, with the days on the front page, and with Ashley Parker's buy-in. I am so pissed about this, because they've had just great writing recently.

BUT THIS IS WHAT JEN AND NORM have been talking about: not being owned by anybody. Not having a subscription base quota or a need to scoop stories or hit some idiotic bothsides mark in order to be relevant. Atlantic should've just ridden the Signalgate break and enjoyed an integrity bump. I liked in the 100 Days gala today that Jim Acosta and Katie Phang brought some perspective back to political reporting--WRITERS ARE NOT THE STORY, they are a bulwark and should take that "oath" very seriously.

Hey, press! Do not elevate Donald Trump unless you plan to kick the stool out from under him.

I was unable to break free for the virtual event- will it be available for those who missed it to view later?

I’m a subscriber but haven’t been able to find it .

Watched every minute of it. Thank you for bringing together Acosta, Tomasky, Phang, and the rest on Gilligan's Island :) Seeing knowledgeable people tell it like it is was refreshing. As Jim Acosta put it, why shouldn't those who know be able to speak their damn minds through the press?

It felt like a turning point, and the blame falls squarely on the bothsides media that think they can thread the needle and keep both types of viewers--those who give a shit about democracy, and those who don't. Well: they're wrong.

Well done, Jen, Norm, and all of our friends for life here at the Contrarian.
