Mamdani ran a very successful social media campaign, but I still think his biggest strength is his message content--work FOR THE PEOPLE, not for Big Money.

It’s true that Zohran deployed modern social media in ways that energized and, moreover, demonstrated a naturalness in that area which young people would recognize and relate to.

But I think it gets lost that he also energizes because of the policies he supports. Cuomo didn’t lose because of his videography any more than Mamdani won because of his tik tok cred — he lost because his platforms are as stale and soulless as his online persona, compared to Zohran’s fresh ideas and optimism.

Echoing Starks' and Dutta's comments above. The author has a clear future with the DNC once Hogg leaves, and that's the problem. "They demonstrated who they were, not simply what they stood for." Never do we hear what they stood for. The Contrarian hasn't seemed to tackle the need for a, well, democratic Democratic Party, a party which can't even bring itself to Eisenhower Republicanism, let alone provide a platform with planks specific and useful enough to campaign on successfully.

Grijalva was NOT an establishment dumb-ol-Dem. She is a candidate of substance and experience, with her own success in politics, as well as with huge family name recognition due to her father's superb progressive political career. She received almost 3 times as many votes as Foxx. It doesnt help this article's credibility to misanalyze two very different situations.
