These are all possible flip-to-blue states here, one however not mentioned may be a wild card. That state is Alabama. Donald Trump will be campaigning in Mobile Alabama tomorrow mostly for the Republican candidates for senator, governor, and a couple of U.S. seats. They are worried about Tommy Tuberville losing to Doug Jones our former U.S. senator who beat Roy Moore in 2017. Jones is all over the state in Union halls speaking to the voters. Tuberville hasn’t done anything his TV ads are desperate and ridiculous. In an election year like this one, a Libertarian candidate can come out of the woodwork and make this an extremely tight race just like in 2002 when it took our Secretary of State a few days to a week to recount votes and sort it out. Governor Bob Riley, a Republican just barely won that race by a razor thin margin.
Good luck, Michelle and Alabama voters. Tuberville is a mental midget and a lousy senator. I admire Doug Jones and am rooting hard for him from California!
P.S. Isn’t it true that Tubby doesn’t even live in Alabama? Joyce Vance wrote a good article back in June:
Can You Be Alabama's Governor If You Don't Actually Live There?
At this point in the game, what our courts have done is play ‘hot potato’ with this case. It has gone from court to court in a tiff over who has jurisdiction to overturn his eligibility. Is it the court’s responsibility or is it the people’s responsibility? Is the question. It is now before the state supreme court just a month before the election. The only way to solve it is to vote for Doug Jones. Just goes to show us that the state Republican Party has no integrity whatsoever to allow a candidate like Tommy Tuberville on the ballot.
Omigosh, Michelle. That is awful. Republicans are the enemy of America. We the People must crush them on Nov. 3. Making a donation to Doug Jones today!
In Oregon, most of the "blue" voters are in the Portland/Portland metro area. The rest of the state largely votes "red." Before the Iran war, Kotek tried raising our taxes on gas and vehicle registration and that didn't go over very well. Enough signatures were gathered and submitted to the State to force a vote of the people who largely voted NO on the measure. People in general, irregardless of income, do not like paying higher taxes. I won't be voting for Kotek. I won't be voting for (Canby Christine) Drazan either. She thought Trump sending the National Guard to Portland would be a great idea. In her campaigning, she plays up culture wars with stereotypes. I will just vote for my own write-in candidate this time.
As someone in an area inundated with Drazan ads, I can tell the GOP really thinks they have a winner here. However Tina's rebuttals have been pretty hard-hitting, emphasizing what a "wolf in sheep's clothing" Drazan really is with regard to abortion, etc. My gut feeling is that the majority of educated Oregonians aren't buying Drazan's "all Kotek has to talk about is Trump" attack line. Drazan's ads, on the other hand, don't even mention her party!
