I get why he didn’t really want to go through the Jan 6 committee but he did so out of duty to country. That was honorable thing. After spending time in the service he really knew what it was all about. That is something the felon is totally clueless about.
What a personable man. He spoke of the importance of working as and with a team; of honor, duty, respect and showed integrity. With this approach, it's unfortunate that he isn't still serving in Congress. At this point, it sounds as if he more espouses democratic attributes. It did rankle when he said that Democrats don't like America, though I suspect that he meant that we don't like it the way it is. Considering what it now is, it's not too likeable. This is why we need to work for change.
I think he meant he was told in republican circles that Democrats don't like America, but he feels differently now, and he thinks Democrats should lean into their authentic patriotism more the way republicans lean into their phoney performative patriotism.
Always good to hear from and about Adam Kinzinger. I have great respect for his courage and morality. In this interview I found most compelling the thought that many veterans are depressed or even suicidal because they can't find a purpose after being part of something greater. That's a loss of potentially awesome workers in any industry, especially education.
Great interview and a great movie which I watched a few days ago. Jen is right that you don't have to be a political junkie, it's really well-made and engaging, smart, deep, moving, and even funny. So Adam is also right that if you don't watch it, you're wrong...

Terrific interview with Adam. It's amazing how perspectives can change when one is exposed to people from "the other side."
Adam Kinzinger would make one helluva Secretary of Veteran Affairs.

Great interview and different perspectives.
Adam is always so honest and energetic. Great interview. Watch the documentary. It's well worth the time.
