Journalist James Fallows, himself a private pilot and long-time observer of aviation, has written extensively (and now in his Substack) about near misses and of excellent work by air traffic controllers to support pilots in trouble. I've read Fallows for at least forty years. His writing is largely about life in all parts of the world and the US, and is one those for which we pay.
