I was glad to see something regarding Ukraine with the mention of the documentary about Brent Arnaud. There is just so little these days about Ukraine and that is just so wrong. I also loved "never again, for anyone, anywhere." Last I heard, a judge ruled that the defunding of PBS and NPR was illegal. What has happened to that $ since?

I used to listen to Democracy Now on WBAI in the 90s when I lived in listening range of the station. I lost track of it after moving to Philly, so it's very nice to reconnect with it. And this film will be mentioned on pitch deck of mine about a satirical left wing documentary I'm writing too.

Sadly, the problem with DN and Pacifica is the extent to which they have bought in with identity politics. While other issues are still discussed, and it's substantive that the film and comments focus on the important stories, much of Pacifica and DN have moved so deep into divisive identity politics they have lost sight of economic issues, especially as those that face heartland America. It's a challenging issue, not easily solved given that Pacifica Radio is mostly based on the coasts and has scant presence in Red America. Plus, the listeners and donors are probably more interested in domestic coverage of identitarian political issues.

Amy Goodman. An Increasingly beautiful woman whose work has aged very well. We have supported her and tuned into Democracy Now! for years and more recently. Sui Generis-- unfortunately for us at the moment.

I continue to persist on coverage of Ukraine. Recently read a book I highly recommend. It definitely qualifies as independent media and reporting: "Looking at Women Looking at War: A War and Justice Diary" by Victoria Amelina.

Amy is amazing. I discovered her and her team in 2003 and have been a listener/viewer since.

While I appreciate Amy's work, I've always found her on-air voice and delivery such a massive turn-off that I can't stand listening to her.

That's too bad, it's your loss. Goodman runs circles around the Never Trumpers and centrists of this outlet. Unlike Rubin, who needed Trump to do an otherwise-unexplained 180 on her repugnant views she expressed for many years, Goodman has been a fearless and smart journalist for her entire career.

My comment is a strong suggestion that she hire someone else to read her copy.

Her voice and delivery of fine, and doesn't bother her many thousands of followers.

Announcers have different "voices" its notable that Amy never sought to be in front of the camera but in community broadcasting you are in front and behind and everywhere. I'd rather a grading voice on important issues than an airhead who read someone else's writing.
