More like a hawk with bone spurs. How any military member can possibly respect him is beyond me.

Brainwashing and cult involvement isn't limited to civilians.

One wonders why, after a remarkably consistent history of transgressions against society, wives, partners, and institutions, people still have difficulty in accepting the malign character of Donald Trump? I believe it is largely due to a media compromised between the pillars of misinformation and real information that form public opinion. Misinformation can be exceedingly profitable for all parties involved, including the reporters and writers. Maybe it is even more profitable than reporting the truth. And honestly, Trump tempts the media with constant, reliable hyperbolic misinformation content.

Did we all forget that Trump used David Pecker and the National Enquirer as his daily media megaphone to hide negative stories about him, and to expand explosive, vile, untrue stories about his rivals? And that we all saw those stories as we idled about in our grocery store checkout lanes? And now he is assembling a much larger and more potent media conglomerate to operate as his nouveau National Enquirer. The Devil's bargain that almost all the media accepted is based on exchanging chests full of profit and loot in subscriptions and clicks in exchange for publicizing the daily hose of misinformation.

So Jill, I don't see your job as reporting on the terrible person represented in Trump. That horse left the barn many decades ago. The people who believe in Trump don't read this article anyway. Your job now is to stand and fight against your industry and colleagues who perpetuate the conveyor belts of media misinformation.

Take it to them, and good luck in your fight for your freedom and independence! Thank you for your work.

In the too infrequent discussions with family members who are Trump supporters I am often surprised at what they do not know about him and do believe. One who claims to be an “independent” still leans heavily on the MAGA leaning Republican media for information and can discuss outrages the Democrats are purportedly doing but knows little about the Trump administrations actions. They don’t like his character but refuse to ask why. If I suggest articles or podcasts they often just “didn’t have time” to read or listen to them. Such a huge issue of purveyors of misinformation/disinformation and curated coverage that outlets know helps their viewers feel better about themselves and their decisions.

Military intervention with his personal army is also his only domestic policy.

Anyone who thought Donald 'bomb the sh%t out of them' Trump was some sort of 'dove' in his first run had to be, at best, incredibly clueless.

There is nothing Trump is doing today that surprises anyone who could see him for what he was ten years ago.

The more demented and frightened he becomes the more he lashes out with more chaos. Skunks tend to do the same thing, only with their spray.

The first rule with Donald Trump is that he lies - compulsively, as second nature, as easily as others shake hands, about anything and everything. Facts, reality, and truth don't exist for him. Since he has no beliefs and no understanding of any policy area, but is an ignoramus, reality is what he wants it to be and says it is. As a social, financial, and sexual predator, a malignant narcissist with psychopathic tendencies, he says what he believes will dupe his intended victims, or make himself sound and look powerful, inspiring awe and fear. It was not for nothing that he admired the fear Kim Jong Un inspired in his inner circle when they met. Trump is no defender of democracy, no matter his rhetoric now on Iran to mask another bravura adventure in bombing. He left the rest of the Maduro gang intact after capturing the nominal leader, and is negotiating for a cut of Venezuela's revenues from oil and perhaps even drugs (under the cover of fighting the drug trade through selective interdiction).

Not mentioned but also relevant is the Elmendorf Joint Base food shortage. Due to budget cuts brought on by DOGE, there isn't much of a food service left, and the 350 or so at the base have limited access to on-base dining, and the small town adjacent to the base can hardly take up the slack. This is one of the many unthought-out consequences. We need to treat our forces better.

KnockKnockGreenpeace's avatar

We need to treat our federal work force better. There should be a public reckoning about how much DOGE actually cost taxpayers, as well as how much it cost all the people who lost their jobs for no good reason.

Steve 218's avatar

Hear hear! There needs to be a reckoning and accountability.

Trump is a conman, and the purpose of the con is for him to own everything, with everyone else employed by him. He’s good at it as shown by his success. Nothing/no one has stopped him no matter how outrageous his behavior, with the outrageousness ratcheting up all the time to constantly push against any impediment to his free exercise of power.

We New Yorkers could have told you: "Don't trust Donald Trump, period." He has never been anything but a sleazy opportunist. Nasty, scheming, lying, unintelligent, and off-the-scale narcissistic. And a born and bred fascist, to boot. If only the Unreality-TV-addicted, FAUX-nooz-brainwashed, grievance-wallowing American public had been just a tad smarter and more interested in the truth...

With all the lies tRump says every day, I began to wonder what percentage of his public speech isn't lies, and which are!
