Agree the DNC sucks right now. But voting isn't marriage. It's public transport. You're not waiting for "the one". You're getting on the bus. And if there isn't one going exactly to your destination, you don't stay home & sulk. You take the one that's going closest to where you want to be.

If you want Georgia, the South, your state to be better, vote Democratic in November.

Not voting = fascists win.

Wow, so well said. Great analogies.

Currently reading Ben Wikler’s new book. He should have been DNC chair. He’s funny and a lifelong organizer. Talk to Gov Shapiro and ask him to cede the convention to Atlanta if Philly is chosen 👹

Denver should do the same, we're a safe blue state and also recent hosts (Obama in 2008!)

Gov. Polis could make up a little for caving in to regime pressure on Tina Peters. Of course, she went right back to stirring up trouble.

You can bet any decision made by Ken Martin is the exact opposite of what it should have been. I have not and will not make any contributions to the DNC since/as long as he is the chair.

Leave it to Democrats to pick one wrong "leader" after another: Schumer, Jeffries, Martin...

Incredible that Martin wasn't fired after the post-mortem debacle! I with you, I won't give them a dime!!

Makes perfectly good sense to have it in Atlanta.

This is a disappointment. But are you really surprised by the action of this DNC ? They really should disband !

I never ever donate to the DNC. I choose candidates myself.

How disappointing! We need to win in the south, starting with Georgia.

Let’s see. A DNC that picks as its leader milquetoast Ken Martin over the fighter Ben Wickler then decides to ignore Southern voters it needs to listen to. Entirely on brand.

Time for unity. Time to end complaining. We know who is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH WORSE! He has an “R” beside his/her name.

Lynne Hammar's avatar

We want to WIN. That means questioning stupid moves by the DNC.

Yes, be wise how and when you pick your battles. Keep your eye on the ultimate prize.

It's sad that Carron had his knickers in a twist, but creating division over ridiculous stuff like this is how Democrats are blowing it.

We really don't need Democrats bickering with each other while Trump tears apart the country!

StrangeRanger's avatar

I respectfully disagree.

The Convention should be held in Minneapolis

Suzyq660's avatar

Grow up and get over it, for crying out loud. Where the DNC decides to hold their convention is the least of the problems we have right now.

People crying over stupid stuff is what is destroying this country. Pull it together!

Democratic candidate are raising money and have their shit together. The “LEADERs” are a hot mess.

Philly is about 40% Black; Atlanta is about 46%. I'm not one for defending the feckless DNC, but this doesn't seem like abandoning Black people. Philly after all is where the Declaration of Independence was signed and an American revolution was launched. Seems appropriate. Also, they won't have the Bernie Bro problem this time as they did in 2016.

Note to the Dems: It’s time to stop bickering and notice the elephant in the room! We MUST COME TOGETHER to change the trajectory of our government before it’s too late!

Half of my family, white, live in southwest Georgia. I don’t feel safe in GA because of the white people. I don’t go there anymore. The other half live in FL, TN and TX. Not much visiting these days. Apologies to the innocents in those states. Besides, it’s too dang hot.

This isn’t new. I was a young lesbian and pro-choice activist when I campaigned for Bill Clinton after surviving high school and college with Reagan and Bush 1, and Clinton threw women, gay people, and minorities under the bus in the name of “compromise” every chance he got. That was my first lesson in not trusting the Democrats to do the right thing. I’m still a Democrat, but I’m also still pissed off.
