Same here! Every time it played on the radio my mother would turn it up so we could hear it no matter where we were and all joined in. We were a company cake family, too. All 3 of her daughters learned to bake so there was always someone available to bake if company was coming.
I can identify with Jamie, as I am a political animal who likes to cook, eat and socialize. I don’t have a column but do enjoy yours. keep up the good work!
It might just be me but i think cooking and politics go very well together. The greatest cooks seem to me to be of a similar mindset that Donald Trump is a criminal and a jerk and he thinks McDonalds is gourmet fare.
