I clicked on the link provided and submitted a comment against the building of the arch. It's easy to do.

I could not get to the comments page by clicking on the link. It took me to “Substack” and nothing opened up.

As Patricia Jaeger noted: click only on "comment page" part of the sentence.

Under the section titled "Oppose the Trump Arch" the last sentence before the picture is "You can review planning documents, impact reports, and renderings at the National Park’s comment page and submit feedback through June 15." The words Comment page are underlined and that's what I clicked on. Maybe you clicked on the general comment icon to comment on the essay. Next time I'll be more specific.

While it is easy to make a comment, because this is the Trump Admin, the website stated that potentially Any information you provide could become Public Record. So Even if you Ask them to Not publish your personal information, they specifically state that this might not happen. Which means, unfortunately, that you could Easily be doxxed or hassled or what? by any folks who might learn that you have posted a negative comment in regard to The Arch which would absolutely and completely affect not only the long term architecture already there, but also Block the views of various other buildings that people from all over our country go to Washington, DC just to see. I really don't know How anyone, regardless of political leaning, would or could choose to put something like The Arch up in Washington, DC. It would be Beyond Ugly and simply not fit in with any other building already there. It would be Far Beyond just an "eyesore", it would be a Permanent Scar.

The only information one is required to input is city, state and zip code. Names are not required.

Please go back to the website and Read what it says, okay? What I wrote, while not a quote, is pretty close to what it states. Yes, you can file a comment Without your name, the website also states some info about doing your comment that way.

I haven’t done it yet but I’m going to do it and have done in the past, and I understand the concern about them publishing information. That only happens if you do not want to be anonymous. That is if you publish it anonymously, they don’t ask all that stuff. But, I don’t know whether they count the comment if you don’t put your name on it.

Thanks for the link on the arch. I commented my opposition with the following - feel free to paraphrase

"I am opposed to any conceived arch on the National Mall in an area designed for horizontal memorials. Any planned arch would block views of views of the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. Any monument or memorial is supposed to be solemn and understated. This is to allow it to quietly reflect the reason for the memorial or monument. We are also not supposed to errect anything to celebrate any living person regardless if they are the current holder of the US President. History will not be kind to those who enable corruption."

Imagine the reaction of dogs who would see such a structure as this arch heaven’s fire hydrant.

I am reminded of the Star Wars movie with the emperor telling Luke he is about to die. "Only now, at the end do you understand." Unfortunately, we don't have Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker here to save us. NSPM-7 must be challenged in Court and eventually get SCOTUS to agree that it is many times unconstitutional.

Robert Reich just posted a letter from Richard Gephardt and Tim Wirth detailing just how dangerous it is. It clarifies that the huge ICE budget and all that extra detention facility space is for an upcoming wave of political prisoners:

All actions should be as easy to perform as comments against the arch. I wrote "It is a travesty to implement structural designs based on the whims of one man. It will block historical sites, including the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, and possibly disrupt flight patterns in nearby National Airport. It is the wrong shape for the area and it is totally unnecessary because it does not honor any distinguished action or a person such as Abraham Lincoln. It should not be built."
