I moved from PA to TX, lived in a hotel for awhile, finally my cats came on the airplane (too hot to travel in cargo). Coincident with moving to apartment. Lost my cat for days, almost weeks only to discover they were holed up in a deep kitchen cabinet. For Days. I was so worried. I wish I still had them. Texas did not set well with them. Nor I. Some people say they got to TX as fast as they could, it took me too long to get the hell out of there. Godforsaken state filled with cruel people.
Pancake, you do like to hide. It's a tough world out there right now, but you look like you've figured out that you chose the right family. I'm so happy for you, and you look delighted in this photo. If we were to compare stories, I think that yours would equal that of my shorthaired Grady, who has hidden himself in spare rooms (always before his mom goes out of town for the weekend, shutting his egress door), closets (he doesn't vocalize, so can be in there for hours), and most recently in a space BEHIND a large built-in clothes drawer - that was the scariest one. Please don't do any of the above things. Or, at least, learn to use your voice so you can be rescued!
Pancake is so cute... Animals let us experience in full measure the meaning of unconditional love. And that quality will help us all survive the qualities of pure evil that flood our lives on a daily basis. Also I would suggest reading the substack of Heather Cox Richardson, who is always a source of calm wisdom in this chaos.
A tuxie-torbie!
Tuxedo - white paws, chin, chest, tummy
Tortoiseshell - blended orange/white/black (calicoes have patches of the same colors)
Tabby - classic stripes
So does she have the dainty disdain of a tuxedo, the strong will of a tortoiseshell, or the sweet cuddliness of a tabby? Or all three?
Absolutely! She has magnificent colouring. The tortoiseshell aspect is really evident in her facial colours. Pretty kitty!
