When someone uses the TDS moniker with me I always counter it with you mean Trumps Deportation Scam.

Nancy's avatar

Could be both! It is!

The news today about the battle between the FAA and the Pentagon is just more confirmation that this regime is getting its kicks from a desire for destruction fueled by incompetence, ignorance, indifference to human life, narcissism. Not one of us is safe.

Robot Bender's avatar

The general sense I'm getting from my aviation connections is a combination of WTF?, that no one in the FAA/military knows what they're doing, and a bit of apprehension. Closing the airspace over a single major airport for 10 days, then dropping it after 1 day hasn't happened in my memory. I detect the hand of Whiskey Pete in this, with his other hand holding a bottle.

Thank you, Norm et al. Really appreciate you saving the receipts and filing the complaints, along with your other cases!!

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

Same here. It was an interesting and encouraging list.

Jeff Knisely's avatar

Since Trump likes his name on everything, I like Jimmy Kimmel’s taking to calling them the Trump - Epstein Files.

JoanC's avatar

I've seen them called the Trumpstein Files. Also apt.

C. King's avatar

I'm still cringing at the Bondi debacle.

Sophia Demas's avatar

I watched with horrific fascination while screaming a word that rhymes with rich. It was as if Blondie was an actress playing a mean girl....

Ted H.'s avatar

It was no act! She is a mean girl. Not sure how old she is but she is not a grown up woman. I like "rhymes with rich" as long as not dogs are insulted!

Sophia Demas's avatar

She is a caricature of a mean girl....

Steve 218's avatar

Bondi is indeed cringe-worthy. She epitomizes the ugly American.

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

That's been Trump up till now. (Plus his acolytes, since he cheated his way into power). Well, she's copying him in everything. Including the deliberate inappropriate informality of speech - she can't replicate his drawl, but that "How ridiculous" was straight Trump.

Steve 218's avatar

Trump's voice is less of a drawl and more of a monotone drone, otherwise, you hit the nail on the head.

Kathy Sowers's avatar

She's an embarrassment to rational women everywhere. Such shameful, unwarranted behavior. She will regret it. Especially that frozen-in-time photo of her refusing to face the Epstein victims when they were standing. Her expression seemed to convey she was busy filing her nails.

patricia's avatar

busy filing a when may I kiss your ass request to DJT

C. King's avatar

The "Bondi Performance" had an iconic feel about it to me. All the "bad" of "bad girls," but without any of the good. Truly, I don't know what to think about it.

Sophia Demas's avatar

The filing of the nails visual is right on!

Dennis McAtee's avatar

Why not take up Nancy Mace's complaint and join her in calling for Bondi to testify again on her use of DOJ assets to spy on members of Congress. It was asserted that Bondi was using a "Burn Book" filled with line items of "search results from individual Congressmembers" while reading the Epstein files provided to them for their discovery. Bring Bondi back in and grill her on this to establish more info for her removal from office.

An FYI to Norm: WIRED had an article today that the Social Security Administration is now required to provide DHS with personal identifying information, including date & time of scheduled appointments. Given that most immigrants do not obtain SSA benefits, it appears to me that the Trump regime is trying to justify the previous DOGE stealing of people's personal information for their database on everyone. This DHS database is being used in conjunction with Palantir software. (Source: More fine reporting by WIRED over the past 30 days). Some Silicon Valley firm employees are getting uncomfortable about the use of Palantir software. In response, they were told, if you want to know more, you have to sign an NDA. DHS & technofascism in the works against everyone.

Nancy's avatar

And we can't stop it? Refuse? I'm thinking of Ben Franklin's statement (paraphrased) that we all hang together or we hang separately. It's a good message for the Rs in Congress too!

Arkansas Blue's avatar

I keep thinking about the atrocious behavior of Bondi at the House Judiciary hearing yesterday, insulting every one of the Democrats asking her questions.

Isn't there some sort of "code of conduct" for lawyers in any professional setting, not just in court, required by the various state bar associations? If there isn't, there should be. If there is, why is the state bar association of Florida, where Bondi is a member not doing anything to rein her in? Surely, yesterday's behavior merits a warning, at least, to be followed by disbarment if she does it again?

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

It was a straight copy of Trump behaviour. Law isn't one of his best subjects. And he was never a member of Congress. In fact, how on earth....?

Arkansas Blue's avatar

Thank the new robber barons and the uninformed and ignorant.

Nancy's avatar

I've been told that bar associations are notoriously bad for holding their members accountable. She certainly needs to be, accountable that is. I believe it (whatever bar group it was) mustered enough moral clarity to disbar Gulliani (sic). Bondi should follow.

Arkansas Blue's avatar

This is a re-post of a comment I posted the day after Bondi's atrocious behaviour at the House judiciary hearing. Almost worse were the comments by the fascist party members.

Mark Ohm's avatar

Honestly I feel my subscription is dedicated to Jennifer and the lawyering from Norm and the gang. Anything else is gravy.

Simply Susan's avatar

Bondi is a thug for the Trump crime syndicate.

patricia's avatar

was that cassity hutchinson I saw sitting behind bondi ??

Simply Susan's avatar

Patricia, that doesn't look like Cassidy H. even on her worst day. Thank goodness.

Garrett Mengel's avatar

Maybe she's the brains behind blondi? Someone is - she can't function by herself.

Steve 218's avatar

Bondi has been around Trump for too long, or she was always just like him - take your pick. She's loud, offensive and abusive. She lies as she breathes, and appears to be barking mad, attacking everything and everyone who does not agree with her. She should be cited for obstruction of justice and lying to Congress.

Then there's Hegseth and the Pentagon releasing a military-grade laser to the CBP for logic and reasons unknown. There should be mass investigations and removals. Hopefully, a new House and Senate majority will take care of this.

Jay Jay Eh's avatar

Some weird malarkey there … ended up being *balloons they were attacking? 🙄

— But the lasers ended up compromising flight safety? O.M.G.

patricia's avatar

so are we to understand they can't tell a balloon from a ballistic missle ??

Steve 218's avatar

Who is surprised any more? Incompetents are capable of anything. What we must not do is either normalise or praise them.

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

On the contrary, mock them, accurately.

Steve 218's avatar

By all means, and continue to batter them with the truth.

patricia's avatar

Not to worry, the only thing we could ever praise them for is being the biggest team of racist idiots to ever run america !!

patricia's avatar

and america has had a few...sort of like a participation trophy

Steve 218's avatar

That's assuming that being a racist eejit is praiseworthy!

JoanC's avatar

I suspect they launched the balloons themselves so they had a target they could try the laser out on. I don't put anything past anyone in this merry band of incompetents anymore.

Mike Sirota's avatar

It is so challenging for me to combine the words “Attorney General” with the name “Pam Bondi”!!!!

Steve 218's avatar

How about Noem with "Homeland Security" or for that matter, Trump with "President"? Hegseth, on the other hand, fits in with his "Department of War" perfectly.

Mike Sirota's avatar

If one accepts the whole DOW bs, that is, but he’s such a pretty boy, though.

Steve 218's avatar

The condition of the DOW had nothing to do with the question on the Epstein files. This is an example of prevarication on Bondi's part.

Anne-Louise Luccarini's avatar

DOW! THE DOW! she suddenly exclaimed, leaning over whatever she was reading. What on earth is she talking about, I wondered. It sounded as if she was reading a menu in a Chinese restaurant.

Robot Bender's avatar

Pretty like a plastic G.I. Joe.

Teresa JV's avatar

Thank you, Norm! You, Jen and all the Contrarians are marvellous!

Hal Garyn's avatar

When Congress, both branches, flips come late 2026, it is not Donald Trump that should worry (although he should), it is the Cabinet sycophants like Noem and Bondi (among others) who should be concerned ... impeachment should loom large, if not also legal action. Remember that the Republicans tried to impeach Mayorkas, and he was upholding the Constitution.

patricia's avatar

providing the dems learned the danger of inaction...hump should have been arrested the night of J6

who was that traitor with him in body armor ? they really had something big planned...

mary thiel's avatar

I love you and all the Contrarians. Thank you so much for what you do, and am so glad to support you.

Irena's avatar

I applaud that the Democracy Defenders Fund... filed a Department of Justice Inspector General complaint calling out her [Bondi] response to the crisis precipitated by ICE violence: to demand Minnesota’s voter registration database.
