Thank you for your note. I second whole heartely. I am truly distressed to see that Trump is destroying this greatest, maybe excluing Israel as it is God's Kingom, country in the history.
I look to the future when all of mankind treats all of its brothers and sisters with compassion, dignity, respect, and love. Given that we still have greed, envy, gluttony, wrath, pride, lust, and sloth, it's clear that humanity has not progressed to that point. As for God, he, she or it was written into history based on the authors' awareness of the times. It is a human contrivance.
I do agree that this administration is destroying everything that made our country great and at that I am truly distressed.
Thank you for all the work that you do! I’d like to know how those idiots thinks they’re going to keep Ebola and Hantavirus and other diseases out of the United States? How are they gonna screen people when they’ve dismissed all the medical and research personnel ?This shows even Dr. Oz who has a medical degree is an idiot!
Why would the wizard waste a heart and brain on this eejit if he's going to be put in a home with bars and locks? Give those valuable goods to someone else!
To be accurate, Hantavirus has been in the southwest US for decades, but controlled with various methods. Subsequently, it has not spread throughout the country. Ebola...another story. One can only hope that when the virus lands at Dulles, and it will, it will head straight to the WH. This is not a disease to trifle with, much like the plague. It will make Covid look like a mosquito bite.
Thank you, Norm, and to all the Democracy Defenders who help. I joined The Contrarian in the first week you and Jen began publishing. I am proud to support the great work that you and your team do. I grew up in D.C., and my father worked for the federal government for the majority of his career. This was in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, and my parents are "spinning" in their graves over all that is going on with this regime. At 78 years old, it is so hard to watch all that is happening. We, those who believe in democracy, will keep fighting. Thank you again for the good work you are doing.
I now subscribe to a TON of "associated" substack publishers, and it all started with The Contrarian, which I also joined in the very first week, angry as a wet hen at what the Washington Post had done. So grateful for what Norm & Jennifer started, AND the results they have been achieving. (Chickens coming home to roost now....)
At 78, I too grew up in D.C. Both of my parents, now late, are spinning as well. I'm thankful that they did not live long enough to see what is happening to our democracy.
Now is the time to say a great big THANK YOU to you, Norman Eisen, and your co-founder of The Contrarian, Jennifer Rubin. With all your subscribers, you two could sit back and get rich.
Instead, you both engage (and seemingly over-extend yourselves) as well as using a possibly huge part of The Contrarian's earnings to fight those legal battles for us and this country. And your subscription is lower than most of the other ones.
You both are totally amazing aand, again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Yes, absolutely. That and finishing Andrew Weissmann's book gave me a ttremendous boost. I hope I'm around to see at least one of his suggestions realized.
My one Substack subscription that does more than just handwringing and bitching and moaning. I'm proud to support your efforts and glad to see your efforts coming to fruition.
Alexander this is so true about a Contrarian subscription being so well spent in the personal fight to up hold our democracy!!! May I repeat, so well spent! So thankful for what Jen and Norm are doing for us everyday. Friday's wins are a reason to celebrate!! Trump has gone whimpering to his next Big Mac as he gives the Kennedy Center back to Congress!! And to WE THE PEOPLE.... who he tried to steal it from, no less.
You present quite the summary this week. The success of the restoration of the Kennedy Center name and the continuing resistance to the $1.8M slush fund is rewarding. The bricks are getting knocked out of Trump's wall, one by one. Thanks to you and others who are intent upon restoring freedoms and democracy, we are paying attention. The best we can do is all that we continue to do to end this regime.
5. In April 17, the court granted a 90 day extension and Trump requested and got a status report be filed fourteen (14) days before the extension expires "proposing next steps."
Included is a "Certification Of Good-Faith Conference Under Local Rule 7.1"
Pursuant to Southern District of Florida Local Rule 7.1(a)(3), Daniel Epstein, co-counsel
for Plaintiffs, certifies that he conferred in good faith with counsel for Defendants on April 15, 2026 by telephone regarding the relief sought in this motion. Defendants consent to the requested extension. Judge Williams approved on April 24. "it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that, by May 20, 2026, the Parties
shall each file a memorandum of law that addresses the issue of whether a case and
controversy exists in this matter so as to establish the Court’s jurisdiction. The Court
SETS a hearing for 10:00 A.M. on May 27...."
6. The NOTICE of Voluntary Dismissal With Prejudice was filed May 18 by Brito and Epstein.
7. Judge Williams did not approve the dismissal.
8. Local rules also provide...
Discipline. Discipline for misconduct defined in these Rules may consist of
removal from this Court’s roster of attorneys eligible for practice before this
Court; or (6) referral to the Florida Bar or other bar if the attorney is
admitted pro hac vice, or (7) any other sanction the Court may deem
appropriate.
(C) Court’s Retention of Inherent Power. Nothing contained in these Rules shall be construed to deny the Court its inherent power to maintain control over the proceedings conducted before it or to deny the Court those powers derived from statute, rule, or procedure. When alleged attorney misconduct is brought to the attention of the Court, whether by a Judge of the Court, any lawyer admitted to practice before the Court, any officer or employee of the Court, the Supreme Court of Florida, or otherwise, the Court may, in its discretion, dispose of the matter through the use of its inherent, statutory, or other powers; refer the matter to an appropriate state bar agency for investigation and disposition; refer the matter to the Committee; or take any other action the Court deems appropriate. These procedures are not mutually exclusive.
Many thanks and many congratulations on the big court wins. Thanks so much for holding their feet to the fire in the illegal racist maps in Alabama. 🥂🥂
Bravo! Bravo!! Bravo!!! So glad to support you and all you do. Makes me feel a little less guilty for the concentration camps---but only a little. Still----thank you! And---I know I needn't say it but---keep up the good work! (So many exclamation points, so little time.)
Words are inadequate to thank Norm and his cohorts for all they've done for us all, and the great cause we're working for. The thing I love best about Norm is that this brilliant, exceptionally talented, energetic, generous-spirited man shows no arrogance, no sense of self-importance whatsoever. He thanks OTHERS for his accomplishments. And this never comes across as disingenuous. If only another public figure (who shall remain unnamed) could show a sliver of humility.
While we're on the subject of great legal victories, I want to point everyone in the direction of an amazing book I just finished reading last evening:
Liar's Kingdom - How to Stop Trump's Deceit and Save America, by Andrew Weissmann.
Although Mr. Weissmann is a law school professor, a legal analyst and has been involved in huge legal cases in the past, this book is easily understood even by dummies like me and, unlike so many books coming out these days, Mr. Weissmann has some GREAT suggestion for two, possibly three, new laws, to end all the lying in politics.
Democratic "leaders," are you listening? Especially you and really everyone who lives in this country and values our democracy MUST read this book. Of course, Mr. Weissmann's suggestions won't go anywhere in the current congress - and most likely not in the current regime - but they give great hope for the future.
I appreciate your review of Liar's Kingdom. I am waiting for my copy. I have seen two interviews with Andrew Weissmann regarding his new book. I was very glad to hear that he is not shy about championing getting truth and honesty back in our political system! And that includes in things like political ads! Can you imagine a run up to a presidential election that does not allow lying ads?!? Or, getting corporate money out of all elections, federal or state!?!? These things alone would change the political landscape.
I’m very proud to support you. Keep up the great work. The opposition is fierce and a lesser person would shrink from it. Thank you!
Thank you for your note. I second whole heartely. I am truly distressed to see that Trump is destroying this greatest, maybe excluing Israel as it is God's Kingom, country in the history.
U.S. the greatest maybe excluding Israel?? Netanyahu and his thugs are acting like a bunch of murderous heathens. Where is the "great" in that?
Look at the entire history of the world and then read Deuteronomy 4:4-8.
I look to the future when all of mankind treats all of its brothers and sisters with compassion, dignity, respect, and love. Given that we still have greed, envy, gluttony, wrath, pride, lust, and sloth, it's clear that humanity has not progressed to that point. "Dr." Oz abandoned the practice of medicine to peddle snake oil and misinformation, and of course, to play in politics.
And may I add Oz makes very lucrative land deals.
That's a new one on me, but of course he has the funds and the contacts to do it.
Google Dr Oz property for a property glimpse. :-)
Forget Dr. Oz, I'm ready to go ask the damn wizard for a brain and heart for Mister, and to put him in a home--the kind with locked doors.
Why would the wizard waste a heart and brain on this eejit if he's going to be put in a home with bars and locks? Give those valuable goods to someone else!
…and do the bidding of the t asshole

With you and Michelle there, AB. Watching Norm's emergency live joyfest yesterday reset my clock. Hope you two are well.
Yes, absolutely. That and finishing Andrew Weissmann's book gave me a ttremendous boost. I hope I'm around to see at least one of his suggestions realized.
Hope you are well, also.

It should not take these contortions to cancel his corruption.
Maybe he placed his head in the noose. Sanctions could be enormous.
Thank you thank you thank you! Your court wins provide me with some hope…
Congratulations. Thanks for the great work for our democracy.
As always, Norm,I am in awe of all “we” accomplish because of you and The Contrarian team. Thank you.

After reading your post with a huge smile on my face (something that rarely occurs when Trump is the subject) I upgraded my subscription to PAID.
Keep up the great work toward saving our democracy!
Ditto here 🤗

I imagine the voice and energy that I've seen in Jen's talks with him come through in the narrative. He's on my Nice list.
Fully agreed. He is such an incredibly accomplished person, but he doesn't talk down to people, like so many do.
