Heading to London next month for a week of sightseeing and bookstore wallowing. As a solo traveler I have found the cafes at museums and my favorite bookstore, Waterstone's, to have, good, reasonably priced food.

Daunt's (on Marylebone High Street) will, quite possibly, change your mind forever as to what a bookstore is and should be.

Daunt's, now with 10 outlets, was founded by James Daunt in 1993. Subsequently, Daunt became known as "The man who saved Waterstones." He is now attempting to do the same for Barnes & Noble, having been hired as the CEO in 2019.

Chalkboard sign seen outside of a London restaurant during the first Trump regime (July, 2020):

"All Americans must be accompanied by an adult"

I love “Mowgli” for Indian food. 2 in London, original in Liverpool. Never disappointed. I just got back from 2 months in the UK and miss it terribly!

https://www.mowglistreetfood.com/restaurants/. I serendipitously found the Mowgli in Liverpool. I was there for 8 days and went twice, the food is so delicious. Saw the other locations so went when I was in Cardiff and London. Top quality at each one. Not a chain, great Indian food and ambience.

Oh, how I do love London, and really, most of the UK. I always had a scone in my purse or pocket. They make the best! That and shortbread cookies. And their humor, hence the chalkboard, is always spot on.

But… the crumbs! The crumbs!

On my bucket list to visit there soon. My cousin, a genealogist has located a couple of cousins there. It would be interesting to meet them!

Good share of some of your visit. I laughed at the bakery sign. So good to see other countries realize what is going on. (Though sad.) Interesting comments, too.
