The Atlantic has an article today by Roge Karma explaining how easy it will be for Trump to get around this ruling using existing tariff laws. Trump is the biggest source of waste, fraud, and abuse loose in the country today. There has never been a welfare queen to compete.
From NYT Dealbook....while IEEPA raised over $133 billion in 2025 alone, Section 122 is expected to generate roughly $33 billion over its five-month window, according to the Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan tax policy advisory group — a drop in the $1.8 trillion federal budget deficit.

What Norm, the Left and the Right fail to explain is how and why Congress ceded its Article I authority to raise revenue to the President in the first place. I don't care what laws have been written, we should all be advocating for the abolishment of any and all tariff authority the Executive Branch currently has. The Founders were way smarter than the bunch we have in charge now.
This question is for Norm Eisen. I want to organize an organized campaign in Blue States requesting Democratic Governors to put their National Guard troops on notice they may be called up to protect their citizens right to vote by protecting them from harassment by ICE or other Federal government actors during the upcoming Nov. Midterms.
It seems to me, a plain reading of the 2nd amendment justifies this action.
As always, thank you! Your coverage is so expansive and reliable, my subscription is worth every penny. Great value for the dollar! But worth more than money! Thank you! Bravo!
The unfurling of a huge banner displaying Donald Trump's face over the front door of the DOJ headquarters in Washington D.C. says it all.
It is unlikely that Donald Trump himself, even with his bloated ego, ordered this eyesore, though it is likely that Trump off-handedly commented how the staid architecture of the DOJ headquarters could be greatly transformed into a thing of beauty with his giant portrait over its portal. This was undoubtedly how the Kennedy Center was converted into a monument to Trump.
It is far more likely that his court jester and former personal attorney, Pamela Jo Bondi, who serves at his pleasure as the Attorney General, tried to catapult herself over Trump's other sycophants to prove her undying admiration and loyalty to him.
Bondi undoubtedly hopes that this garish display of his mug (signifying the corruption of justice within this edifice) will trump the obsequious tributes to him by his other servile flatterers in his cabinet as they go around the table, for the benefit of the press, lavishing praises upon this egomaniac.
Well, it was a week with several good outcomes. For that, we should be thankful for all the hard work of others. We are bound in a long action against Regime Leader Trump, a being with a soul filled with sand. I believe, as others have pointed out, that removing this corrupt MAFIA Family and his willing lieutenants is not enough. Trumpers and MAGA proved they can break the Constitution. There is much to repair and we must think of ourselves in the spirit of Lincoln, of giving this nation a new birth of freedom. The last Civil War was long. The outcomes imperfect, but we must do the best we can even though we are human and not AI.
Who says that AI would do any better? After all, it amasses its information/intelligence from the writings of us humans! Remember the old computer information call of garbage in - garbage out. AI collects, but does not reason. That is left to us.
The Contrarian is a Democract saving innovation by Jen and colleagues. The subscriptions by many readers are like voting. I dropped subscription of WP and changed NYT to online version to save money to support The Contrarian and other subbtrac journalists. We are seeing a new journalism.
I will be honest, I rarely have time to watch all of the live videos, and often in the evening I don’t always have time for the roundup, but I will never cancel my subscription because I want to continue contributing to your legal efforts! Thank you for being our voice in the courtroom, and keep the fight going!
Oh, they'll say it's too hard and inconvenient to refund any money to the taxpayers. Just like ICE did when they said it would be too hard to get judicial warrants for all the people they're "detaining." Apparently, government inconvenience is now another way for them to ignore laws they don't like. 🙄🤬
Glad to see a major Trump loss on the tariffs. He still keeps defying the courts but the only way to rein him in is impeachment. That won’t happen unless Democrats win a majority of senate seats and some Republicans are willing to impeach. Impeachment should never be a partisan matter if the president has committed crimes they need to be impeached by members of their own party. Such as it is.

Thank you for your tireless and successful work in the courts. It is never ending.
If I were Roberts (which I know I ain't) I'd convene a contempt hearing for Trump's conduct. He's a party in the case!
Proud to be a Contrarian👍
Everyone who cherishes living in a democracy needs to resist the MAGA fascist regime however you can.
One way is to subscribe to the Contrarian. I am thankful for the reporting and the legal representation they provide.

What's your view?
Excellent idea!

Disgusting. Both Him and Her.
Contrarians = Patriots.

Check out Claude. Not up to us.
I keep asking it to take an MMPI.

If you can’t do, then talk incessantly. Stephen A. Smith is a loud mouth, know virtually nothing, unqualified, nincompoop. I wish ESPN would fire him.

Tariffs weren't only paid by small and big businesses they were paid by the general public! How do we get reimbursed?

I could accept being reimbursed by the arrest and incarceration of every Trump family member... that includes Kushner.
To echo your other supporters, "Way to go, Norm!" and thanks.
