Too bad the democrats in Congress won't stand up. With the exception of three, every democrat is either silent or preaching to the choir on opinion shows-- two things that do absolutely no good. Democrats must become vocal on the immoral, illegal, and un-American things Mustrump is doing, and they must go on EVERY media outlet there is to reach as many Americans as they can. They must CALL FOR ACTION AND GIVE US A PLAN ON STOPPING THESE FASCISTS, then LEAD! I know, I'm dreaming; it would require a spine and a clue, neither of which the democrats possess.
And they need to NAME NAMES!!! Not "My colleague on the right." Mitch Fucking McConnell. Ted Fucking Cruise. Jim Fucking Jordan. Marjorie Taylor Germ. Laura Fucking Boobert.

Saw a clip of a Democratic Congress representative's town hall, where one suddenly VERY engaged white male voter urged his Rep to stand up to Trump's usurpation of Congress's control of the purse strings and Senate caving to approve incompetent and dangerously sycophantic Trump appointees. This citizen urged his Rep to SHOW COURAGE, CALL ON US AND WE'LL SHOW UP FOR YOU, WE'LL SUPPORT YOU.
Yeah, really? Now that Trump has the U.S. DOD under his thumb, with no JAG to warn against carrying out illegal orders, Trump will call upon military units to quell even peaceful citizen protests in D.C. Remember "Can't you shoot them in the legs" when he tricked Milley into accompanying him for his Bible toting photo op after the BLM progests in the wake of George Flloyd's murder? This time he WILL order shooting into civilian protests, just to intimidate people and prevent future protests. A few citizens die? Oh, well, collateral damage, and they brought it on themselves ... like Ukraine forced Russia to invade by being uppity and insisting on its sovereignty. Welcome to Putin's Russia, people. We're there.
In The Villages Florida, a retiree community, a MAGA club invited some of the pardoned January 6 ‘cop beaters’ to speak at a paid event. Concerned Democrats in the community rallied together to voice our disgust and fear that resulted in successfully shutting down the event. Actions taken: 100’s of emails and phone calls were made, attendance at Community meeting and organizing a peaceful protest if event was to take place. Joining together to cause ‘Good Trouble’ pays off!!
On the Morning Joe this morning the question was asked: How to explain Trumps pandering to Putin. I suggest that Trump relates to Putin as though he was his father who also seems to have been a dictator.
Protesting is "nice". It shows people care (some people). But it's like water off a duck's back to this administration and its enablers, the Republicans in Congress. Our congressman (Rich McCormick) is already reacting to his negative "Town Hall" by telling local press that he would like to see Musk take a "slower approach" and give more justification for his outrageous agenda. Meanwhile he marches in step with everything in the Project 2025 agenda. We need more focused action -- namely recalls for Republicans in swing districts. They won't all succeed, but they'll put the fear of God in some Capitol Hill offices -- and distract them from the Trump agenda. Now is the time to hit hard. You'll get more recall signatures than people marching. I'd start small, with the most vulnerable and add a couple every week. We have to take action, not simply make noise.
There are republican states in our country that want to live in Trump's World.
In Trump's world, they would not have to vote or think because King Trump, the authoritarian dictator, would make all the decisions for them. This world would consist of only white citizens, and no one with colored skin would exist except for the athletes on their teams. All foreigners will be deported. Only one religion would be present in this world: the Christian religion; therefore, abortions would be criminal, and women would assume the correct role for them as housekeepers. The federal government would be small, and the federal taxes would be almost nonexistent because Medicare, Social Security, Veteran Care, Education, and the Postal Service would all be privatized, which means companies of billionaires would operate them. Medicaid would be eliminated. All foreign aid and military assistance would stop, and the size of the armed services and the Pentagon would be reduced. Roads and transportation would be assigned to the states and would be privatized. Caring for your fellow citizens would be minimized.
This Trump World repulses the democratic states who want to live in a world the exact opposite of Trump's World. It is a caring world, and they want to decide and vote on what is happening in their democratic country. Caring for their fellow citizens is a principle that they live by. Diversity is desired and considered a fundamental strength of our country; they believe that they are a country of immigrants. States are vital, as is a functioning federal government of state-elected representatives. Financing regulations would control voting.
These differences between these states existed before the Civil War and have been fermenting and rotting in our country's belly, and they can not be reconciled. The South realized these differences and was right in wanting to succeed in the union, but they were defeated and never conceded their beliefs. These differences were never reconciled, and they still exist today. It is an exercise in futility to think they can be reconciled today. We have fundamental differences in how we want to live. I would never want to live in a republican state, and I know that they do not wish to live in my democratic state. So let us go our separate ways and live in two different nations in our country and establish a way to coexist peacefully.
Hey Jen & Norm — You absolutely have to start talking about abortion and the cruel draconian laws red states are passing to imprison women and even kill them for homicide. MT is now the first state to try to pass a law outlawing women’s travel at any age for an abortion for any reason. The unconstitutionality of this law and similar ones teeing up in other red states is as blatant as it gets! 1) A fundamental protected right of all Americans is the right to travel freely — except females, it seems. And 2) rampant misogyny is one of the foundational requirements for fascism! This is a huge, unforgivable gap in your reporting and analysis. Please, please, please remedy it. If you’re afraid of offending someone and you let that stop you from looking this straight in the eye, then you are as bad as the cowards in Congress and the media.
