This interview was informative, interesting and, for me, hugely important....I feel I know something - at least much more than I did - about how these hostage-taking situations work. To me, the important thing is of course to get Mr. Garcia back as soon as possible but equally important is the return of the others who were taken with him. Mr. Garcia's removal was an "administrative error"; the removal of the others was purposely full and completely illegal....
El Salvador is bound by mutual extrdition treaties, including the OAS, which protects asylum.
If I were the ACLU I would have hired local counsel to bring a habeas corpus under Salvadorean law.
"Lawyers hired by the Venezuelan government filed a legal action Monday in El Salvador aimed at freeing 238 Venezuelans deported by the United States who are being held in a Salvadoran maximum-security prison.
"Jaime Ortega, who says he represents 30 of the imprisoned Venezuelans, said they filed the habeas corpus petition with the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Chamber. He said that by extension they requested that it be applied to all Venezuelans detained in El Salvador.

The Blue Origin photo op was an affront to any of the female pioneers who actually earned their place in history. Jeff Bezos’ space endeavors are a freak show, not to be compared with NASAs achievements. Same for muskrat, although he hires smarter people.
Gov. Josh Stein declare North Carolina a FREE TRADE ZONE. State's Rights for a noble cause. Every coastal and border state do likewise. Mayors of every port city do likewise. As always, the writing here on The Contrarian is excellent and informative. One such piece that stood out to me as exemplary, Active empathy is life changing by none other than Jennifer Rubin. She captured the spirit absolutely beautifully as it spoke volumes not only for the Pesach season but also for Holy Week as well. A timely, impressive and elegant message to us all!

Back in the 1940s a guy with a funny black mustache rounded up people and sent them to prison (camp). They also had tattoos--of numbers
