I assume the Plaintiffs will seek further relief in the absence of webpages reporting on the Measles Outbreak in Gaines County Texas. That's 24 reported in Gaines County yesterday - 22 unvaccinated Children & 2 unvaccinated Adults. Per the Texas Department of Health there have been 48 total infections so far "... the worst Outbreak in 30years".
I am wondering what anyone thinks about not filing taxes, as a protest to the fact (among others) that the Felon in charge is NOT an elected official?! Why should I be law-abiding when the ones in charge are clearly scoff-laws?

If you're owed a refund, the IRS will be happy to keep your money indefinitely. Meaning you can file late without penalty. (A little acknowledged fact but it's true.) The filing deadline for refunds is largely for convenience and most people want their refunds anyway. If you owe more tax than you already paid in, however, then you need to file by the deadline or ask for an extension because penalties and interest will start accruing on that date. And they can ultimately seize your bank account and put a lien on your house for back taxes owed. (I used to be a tax preparer.) Unless you have enough money to evade taxes altogether!
I always get a refund. BUT I was willing to forgo it if refusing to file at all would make a point. I am so angry at what PINO and his co-felon are doing, at the ripe old age of 72, I am again drawn to civil disobedience.
I hear you but simply not filing won't help, IMO. Don't forget some of those militia types have tried tax related actions and all they do is get warrants out for their arrests ultimately. I don't think there is any civil disobedience that is tax related likely to work.

I live in the boonies but my sister is trying to organize her neighborhood to make and take signs to the one in Grand Rapids, MI. The intent is 50 protests in all 50 states. This is the second protest by this group and this one has had more time to be planned. I'm hoping for the best!
I have been bringing it up in conversations with people all week. Met with apathy by some and a blank stare by my GOP friends. Reality is a complete separate entity for many around me. Hard to find a non TRUMP supporter in my neighborhood and I live in California. Go figure

A general question....we like to make financial contributions through Act Blue. Looking at the list today there are sooo many choices. We like to send our $$ to groups that are diverse (as opposed to a single subject or person). Do you have suggestions of good causes that are financial sound?
Has anyone ever heard of a Bench Warrant? For Contempt of Court? There is a bevy of targets for such action; bad actors who are not protected by the bought and paid for ruling by SCOTUS. Actually, I think their acronym ought to be changed to SCROTUM: Supreme Court Representing Those United Malingerers.

In the 1760s, American colonies created Committees of Correspondence to coordinate resistance to British rule regarding taxation and other economic conflicts. Committees existed in every colony except North Carolina, and it was from these Committees that the First Continental Congress was born in 1774. The Committees were the brainchild of Sam Adams.
It is time to revive the Committees of Correspondence as a national organization with branches in every state and as many localities as possible. If Sam Adams could do it on horseback in the1760s, we can do it today.
The mission of the C of C is to defend our democratic system from Trump, Musk, Putin, Xi, and whoever else thinks democracy is out of date.
To carry out this mission, the Committees should take action to:
· Pressure federal, state, and local officeholders to oppose any assaults on the processes and norms of our democratic system: letters, phone calls, physical protests, editorials and any else that will call attention to what Trump and his henchmen are doing.
· Introduce ballot initiatives
· File lawsuits
· Engage in protests
Collect and publish information about:
· Shutting off funds and closing offices, programs, grants, and contracts
· Laws and regulations that have been changed, eliminated, and ignored, especially where there has been an impact on specific individuals
· ICE activities, especially where they violate their own rules
· IRS audits of anti-Trump organizations and individuals
· DOJ and FBI visits and threats
· Whatever else presents itself.
The Committees need to be non-partisan and open to anyone who subscribes to the mission We can assume it will be infiltrated and more. We have to be prepared.
I am posting this call to action on the following Substacks: Letters from an American (Heather Cox Richardson), The Contrarian (Jen Rubin), The Bulwark, Hopium Chronicles (Simon Rosenberg), Robert Hubbell, and my own (Judd Kahn), as well as Democracy Docket (Marc Elias.) I hope that one of these people or another like-minded leader responds to the invitation and takes on the responsibilities. A possible way to begin is for one of them to open a new and free Substack called Committees of Correspondence and each of them to encourage their followers to register. Industrial strength communication channels can be established later.
We cannot leave our children and grandchildren as prisoners in what would truly be The Gulf of Trump.
QUESTION - Who would be the source for initiating Disbarment proceedings against an an Attorney General who orders the dismissal of an outstanding jury verdict as part of a quid-pro agreement with the guilty party? Would such an investigation establish a felony "abuse of power" charge against the President who ordered the dismissal? The line of falling dominoes has to start some time and the sooner the better. To restore our republic and the rule of law, we in the Resistance must keep that goal equal to our efforts to restore democracy. If we in the Resistance choose to break the law we should do so strongly enough to rid our society of the scofflaws that endanger our democratic republic, We have let it become too late to expect the institutions designed to sustain and restrain our democracy to do so. That moment passed when Trump was not convicted in the Senate for the Jan 6 impeachment. The institutions of government are not populated with people who maintain that Trump won the 2020 election and their loyalty is to Trump and not to the Constitution. The Resistance will have to be bold, shrewd, and cunning to rid ourselves of them. At this stage there is no effectiveness for wimps.
