These detention camps better known as concentration camps are costing the taxpayers billions and billions of dollars. Everyone should be on the front lines trolling their Repugnican lawmakers every day about this until they lose every single election every where. The term safe Republican seats should become reliably nonexistent in 2026.

Probably more important to maga, the rich are earning a lot of the camps. If you don't house people properly, don't feed or hydrate or allow for people cleanliness, where is the money going. Into pockets of billionaires. Their approach is to make money off every step.

It makes me sick to my stomach reading this. All of us are complicit in this. It is time to sit down. Just stop everything and refuse to work until all these places are closed and the people returned to their homes.

The fact that someone is writing about and reporting on these atrocities as if it is "normal" is horrifying and disgusting. We have become Nazi Germany. You might as well be writing about Auschwitz or Bergen Belsen. We were seemingly horrified when the German did this. Where are the protests? We are worse than the Germans, in my opinion. They didn't have cell phones and internet. They could pretend they didn't know what was going on. What's our excuse? Why is no one doing anything? Do we need another country to invade us to free these victims?

You rightfully bring up the question that has been missing from the leaders of the opposition, the Democratic Party! Trump pardons drug lords and financial criminals; there is a small release in the legacy media, and then it is dropped. There could be a daily attack by the Democrats against the media. Let people know what is happening and repeat it every day! But, as you state, what's our excuse?

I hope there's a way to make TSA and FEMA each their own department and not be included in DHS.

It isn't millions yet. But it's murder. They are murdering people. And no one bats a fucking eye.

A national general strike for everyone who can afford to participate is urgently needed.

The irony cannot be missed or acted upon. Trump is being allowed to establish Concentration Camps, that are the size, or greater than that of Hitler, or Russia! In the EU, major players such as Mountbatten, the King's brother, are being arrested or forced to resign because of Epstein! We have marauding masked ICE Gestapo troops roaming our cities, beating and killing citizens, and yet the SCOTUS rules against the elimination or arrest of these traitors.

Today on Substack, the company that financially supports Nazi sites on its platform, using the income from The Contrarian and the rest of us, and none of us budges, Mr. Vladeck mentioned a Judicial Conference’s Committee on Codes of Conduct—a group of 15 judges from across the lower federal courts tasked by the Judicial Conference of the United States (the federal courts’ policymaking arm) with publishing opinions on “ethical issues that are frequently raised or have broad application” who apparently are now going to meet.

All of this either produces anger or deep horror at the lack of our capability to address what the obvious next step is by Trump and the Republicans. But why was this "Committee" not vocal when Aileen Cannon literally erased the case against Trump? Where was this committee when Thomas and his crew sold themselves?

"All told, the number of gifts FTC identified that were accepted by the current nine, plus the eight who’ve left the court since 2004 (Justices Rehnquist, Stevens, O’Connor, Scalia, Kennedy, Souter, Ginsburg and Breyer) is 546, valued at $4,755,147. Adding in Thomas’ 126 likely gifts since his confirmation, that tally comes to 672 gifts valued at $6,592,657! Justice Thomas likely received over those 20 years — mostly comprising free trips to and free stays at Bohemian Grove and Topridge worth $1,787,684 — that number jumps to 445 gifts valued at $4,780,720.-CNBC

We need some self-evaluation here, and we need to decide what really matters. The Contrarian, Steve Vladeck, and all the others we support and want to continue providing first-rate information to all of us must find an alternative to Substack! If the reports about Substack are true, how can we remain silent and complicit in supporting those whom we supposedly are fighting against?

Group action such as boycotts work, but one of the worst offenders doesn't sell anything to the public. CoreCivic runs the ICE facilities in Texas and Louisiana. It also runs the prisons in Texas. Their appalling institutional practices are identical in both venues, especially for prisoners who are not in "general population" and have limited visitation privileges. How would a boycott work? They are a publicly traded company which makes significant campaign contributions to various elected officials. Divesting their stock would get their attention and send a message that their practices are torture and would be banned for prisoners of war.

WOW - this is big - Texas lawmakers standing up for their constituents - and demanding changes with ICE.!! All the Texas lawyers took an oath to preserve and protect the constitution and they have been as silent as the spineless federal Congress. ICE needs to be handled now before SCOTUS lets them attack us for our comments. ICE is the muscle Trump is counting on to intimidate all of us, to help the GOP with the midterms, and to execute Project 2025's fascism plan. Also on the bright side, there are 2 Dems looking to challenge Cornyn for his Senate seat. It would be great to get Cornyn out of the judiciary committee. Did you see Talarico on the Colbert you tube.? Still a large problem with Texas - Paxton is the worst just followed by Abbott. Paxton admits to dismissing Houston votes for Trump and Abbott responded to Trump with troops for the Chicago invasion and the unprecedented untimely gerrymandering. Then there are the southern belles that are subservient to their red neck MAGA husbands - when they should care about their children and their future. I AM BECOMING A TEXAS FAN - good guys should win

The description of systematic brutality in this wholesale incarceration get rich scheme, is sadism in the service of fascism. It is both heartbreaking and infuriating. And every single word is needed to get the ugly truth exposed and all of us more determined to actively resist.
