Democrats introduced many amendments to stop tax cuts:

• First, stop tax cuts for those making over $10 million a year—Republicans voted no.

• Second, they tried to set the cutoff at $100 million—Republicans still said no.

• Third, they tried to set the cutoff at $500 million—Republicans still said no.

• Fourth, they tried to set the cutoff at $1 billion— Republicans said they were for giving billionaires a tax break on the backs of the poor and the elderly.

1) Republicans, 217 of them in the House, won’t even block tax cuts for people making $1 billion in a single year.

2) Republicans, 217 of them in the House, are more than happy to slash funding for kids with disabilities and seniors in nursing homes to give billionaires a financial break.

If you voted for one of these Republicans you are complicit in their actions.

A small group of wealthy to unimaginably wealthy, cruel, immoral white American men, from Trump/Musk through their cabinet and the GOP leadership are all rushing to ruin the reputation of the US around the globe. Just the list of cancelled USAID programs described in today's NYTimes is heartbreaking.

And now this same group is scheming to wreak its selfish, immoral agenda on poor and needy US citizens so they can extend tax cuts for the top 1% of Americans. Really, it's embarrassing for all Americans. And our leader lives mostly in his 126 palatial estate in Florida.

Hopefully our protests will continue to grow and Trump's approval will continue to plummet.

At some point soon, Trump and his anti-american agenda becomes more of a liability than an asset to the GOP and they turn on him.

Donald Trump is a Russian asset and, according to "The Guardian" (1/29/21), he has been for decades. When will America FINALLY confront that seminal realization ?

Judge John Bates, a George W. Bush appointee, overruled Trump's DOJ objections today 2/27/25 at 4:35PM Eastern that "DOGE" must (mandatory) provide a Representative to "testify under oath" in Judge Bate's court about the' White House task forces, structure, authority and activities."

Hmmm, could take awhile given the New York Times has identified at least 45 "DOGE" AGENTS.

Rush Limbaugh 💩 was expert at tainting words by association, e.g., never saying "environmental" without sayin "wacko." So let us use this proven method by always saying "FASCIST" after we say "MAGA." Quick, easy, truthful, & effective. Say "MAGAFASCIST!" Please propagate. Thank you!

So constitution patriots, have you joined Indivisible.com? Join local people in your area pushing for change. Do as much or as little as you wish, but do something. Thank You

Where are the Democrats on the measles outbreak in Texas that began shortly after the 78 year old convicted criminal got the nuclear codes? This is an example why I have nothing but disgust with Democratic representatives. If this happened when Democrats were in, Republicans would be all over it. Then Democrats talk about a messaging problem. Their failure to highlight this is an example of a messaging problem on vacinations. The CDC cancelled a meeting to make decisions on the vacinations for the upcoming flue season. Kennedy dismissed the measles problem. Why aren't Democrats dealing with this?

I am quite disappointed having subscribed to 'the contrarian'. Talking heads are not what I thought I would be getting. I had expected intelligent writing, thought out and sifted to the best insights through writing, WRITING!

I am canceling my 20+ year subscription to the Washington Post. What publications are still considered reliable, independent and accurate sources of news?

The historian John Meachum raised a question this morning (02-28 on MSNBC) about what had happened to change the United States' attitude about defending democracy from the post-cold war attitude to now where, he comments, in the Ukraine/Zelinsky affair (apparently to occur today) we are in fact renting ourselves out to Ukraine (signaling a huge change at the level of principle).

They also took issue with Trump's STILL talking about having trusted Putin about Russian interference in our election (Trump cannot have that because it would call his legitimacy into question . . . again and rightly).

In my view, the whole thing reeks of just how poisonous Trump's reductionism is to us and to world politics.

It's quite complex, of course; however, at the level of principle, what Trump is doing with Zelinsky reveals a change of principle that has never left Trump--the change for the US is from the principles governing political orders and the fundamental conflict between democracy and autocracy and the different sources of power in either, now for US policy reduced to the principles that govern the business model (renting ourselves out) and where that model is centered in bottom-line thinking at the detriment of (and apparent with the psychological ignorance of) higher level principles which were embraced (however mixed) by pre-Trump policy-making, even Reagan) and that (apparently) still exist in OUR minds, and in the minds and hearts of many GOP Congresspeople and others who are just fearful of Trump==otherwise civilized people responding to Trump and the MAGA crowd's tactics, along with his poisonous delusional thinking (Russia and Trump went through the "Russian Hoax" together) and empty-of-authentic-principles situation applied to US policy.

If "we" do not understand the shift at the level of principle, we will find it difficult to understand when it is occurring and when it becomes solid to where we find ourselves stuck in historical quicksand. In fact, we are involved in a pimp-like trade deal with Ukraine, and naked extortion, and, in this case, we are all supposed to "trust Putin" to hold up his end of a future bargain of non-aggression (using whatever word salad will work in the moment), if he signs the paper. What's the saying? "Up Shit's Creek?

I'm a subscriber but I like to read the "full story" instead of doing the transcript. Why don't you offer the"full story" in text as opposed to having to listen to the interview (I read faster than listen)?
