Every ounce of surveillance needs to be gone! The minute we allowed it on ounce they took it further and now I feel like I live in China or at least that’s where this is heading.
Republicans do this with everything. Remember they wanted to take DNA on every person who broke the law to build a data base to support crime fighting overall? Well now that’s turned into a $250 fee every felony no matter how many…DNA doesn’t change but hey! Why not pile on fees so no one can ever get out from under the system. It’s just ridiculous. I could likely find several more examples. Our entire law enforcement system needs an overhaul including our prisons and associated policies. Just read an enlightening article by Chris at ER on Substack. Very telling about what type of thinking is constantly reinforced in so many ways. I also believe strongly that we absolutely MUST do something as a nation to address programs like those on FOX and the like. Maybe all of the political opinion shows…stop billing it as news for starters. But allowing blatant lying to occur on air nationally under the guise of news is a disservice to Americans. I believe as a country the least we could do is require that any news program report factual information only.
I agree. Blatent lying should not be allowed under the guise of news. When the 1927 Radio Act went into effect licences had to be renewed every year with the stipulation that the individual stations were performing a service to the community. The Fairness Doctine came in 1949 and stipulated equal time for politicians on opposing sides. There once was legislation prohibiting monopolies. These have all been tossed by the wayside and gotten us to the deplorable state we are in now. The very least we should expect is to get the truth!!
