I don’t have time to watch it right now, and I miss the live one, but I hope somebody held Klobuchar‘s feet to the fire about her vote for funding police only in red state. It’s ridiculous, there’s no such thing as bipartisan anymore and she needs to learn That and quit being compliant. When I lived in Minnesota I read her dad’s columns in the Minneapolis Star Tribune religiously. He would not have approved I’m quite sure.

I'm not sure that there was a vote to fund police in red states only. I'm trying to get to the bottom of it. News reports don't spell it out the details. I'm looking for the wording. It doesn't sound to me like something Klobuchar would agree to.

Thanks for that. I didn’t read it myself but somewhere in one of the sub stack columnists I read which are of course this one, Scott Dworkin, Paul Krugman, Joyce Vance and Jess Craven. Somewhere in that group was a comment about that which they columnist was pretty upset about. Also there was another representative or senator whose name I have forgotten, who also voted for this and whoever wrote the column was upset about her too. If you find it that would be great. I’m sorry, I do it myself but I have company tonight and I’m going out of town early in the morning.

So far, I've discovered that it may have something to do with sanctuary cities that protect immigrants. Trump has said that he will withhold federal funds for sanctuary cities. I'll keep looking. Maybe Jen Psaki will have something.

Yes, that was it! Sanctuary cities. But Klobuchar voted for it which was maddening! Why, Amy?

One bill had to do with the distribution of public safety resources for use by the police. The issue was sanctuary cities not receiving those resources. So, the dirty Republicans put a poison pill into what otherwise would have been a good initiative. My guess is that Amy was between a rock and a hard place: vote yes and some police forces will get the public safety resources or vote no and her record will show a choice of not funding the police - which of course will be used against her in a campaign. Tough choice.

So much great content on The Contrarian it’s hard for me to keep up! I’m loving it 😊

I found Tea with April a total waste of time and an insult to our Contrarian intelligence. It is not journalism, but rather reminded me is the vapid conversations on the TODAY show. April did not hold Klobuchar's feet to the fire, so Klobuchar waxed eloquent about all that is going wrong with this Administration, but never offered how she and Congressional colleagues are fighting fire with fire. The playing field is so changed and her colleagues need to meet the moment and FIGHT BACK on Tariffs and so many other powers that Congress is being stripped of by the Executive and Judicial branches. Soon we may not have need of Congress and SCOTUS as Trump takes over as an autocrat. Don't waste your time sipping/spilling tea with April.

My feed transcript is scrambled so I am unable to read it. As a subscriber I am baffled as to why this is the case. Any ideas?
