While the SAVE Act may not pass in the U.S. Senate, the Republican led majority in the NC General Assembly gave the authority over the State Board of Elections to the only Republican member of the Council of State and they are proposing new rules for elections that will, in effect, put the SAVE Act into effect in NC elections. God help us.
The SAVE Act is totally stupid and not worth anyone’s time. If the senate has to debate it then it’s not likely to change any minds. But that is what congress does they waste everyone’s time over legislation meant to suppress voting rights for women and minorities. That’s all it is.
