YES to The Uprising. Sounds right up my alley. But I will never watch anything about Elon Musk, Rupert Murdoch, or any of the stunted tech bros--or Melania Trump, for that matter, Mr. Bezos. Thanks, Meredith, for the hints about what to watch and what to avoid!

Yes, 4 hours straight of Musk is far more than I could stomach, no matter how critical it is. I've watched the entire 10 hours of The Human Condition (not in one sitting), so it's not a matter of stamina.

It's right next to Enoch's Hammer.

It seems more likely that filmmakers are reading the social atmosphere against billionaires, datacenters, etc. — and cashing in. The Uprising, though, definitely seems like it's worth watching.

By the way, "eat the rich", Eat the Rich is a great and oddball comedy indy film. Lanah Pellay has the starring role. Lemmy of Motorhead has a role, and he performs in the film with his band the eponymous song. Oddly they able to get Paul McCartney to do a cameo even though he was rich then and a billionaire now. Available on Netflix.

The book "Blood in the Machine: The Origins of the Rebellion" by Brian Merchant is a clear-eyed look at the Luddites and the terrible human consequences of the Industrial Revolution. The author importantly draws parallels to the consequences of today's nearly-unregulated technological revolution.

I don't know about the new religion part, but I agree with everything else in your last sentence.
