Agree with Weatogue Guy that Norm is a true patriot -- as are all those working with him. Just one problem in the summary for the week. The need is NOT for women to get testosterone (unless you mean trans women). Most women don't need *exogenous* testosterone and will never need it. But there truly is a need for more consistently science-based decision-making in our health care system, esp. when it comes to testosterone, HRT, birth control and pharmacological abortion. These should not be political issues, but we see what has happened. There are also some obstacles within the medical world, such as malpractice fears caused by a single study 25 years ago, which Europe has handled sensibly but the USA has not. For example, an otherwise healthy 61 yo postmenopausal woman suffering from severe postmeno insomnia with resulting high blood pressure will typically be refused a prescription for HRT in the USA, but not in Europe. Taking the black box label off estrogen creams was good, but does not fix the HRT situation as a whole.
Norm - I agree that we need a Nuremberg style approach where we prosecute the worst cases of corruption. But is that has to be done quickly and decisively to restore some semblance of trust in the system
We need to avoid expecting everything to change and be fixed in the first month. We tend to do that and then throw up our hands and withdraw or eat our own immediately. The GOP is patient and thinks longterm about their odious goals, which is why they are where they are. We need to do the same.
Yes indeed. The GOP and its operatives have been building what we have today since Richard Nixon. It will take some time and concerted effort to weed out the corruption that has invaded our system of government. Long-term vigilance and action is indicated.
Yes. It took 250 years for this experiment in democracy to get this far. Trump and the fascists he represents are a serious threat, and we will need a large committed coalition to retake the country. Then we can begin again the progress toward a free, enlightened, equitable society. That will be a tremendous task, not a quick fix, but now after seeing the corrupt alternative, the upward climb will be worth it.
"who are getting ready to drop the boom should one or both houses of Congress flip." This is a promise on an uncertain outcome. Trump is ready to destroy the midterm election using whatever means avaialble. Another way is to flip the house now by persuading some Repubican members become indepenent and vote along with DEMs.
Thanks to Norman Eisen and The Contrarians for pursuing accountability for many cases in which. the Trump administration has not followed the Constitution or laws that all Americans are meant to follow. Accountability takes time, but also requires dedicated legal representation of the public's interest. Thank you so much.
Great work Norm Eisen…you’ve done more than your share to restore faith in the legal profession. And, it’s important to remember that those who’ve paid Trump or taken actions to fulfill his wishes and gain from it, are also guilty of bribery. Making them accountable is essential to the recovery of the rule of law.

[1] Federal officials acknowledged that they canceled billions of dollars in grants to states “based solely” on the fact that Trump did not win them in 2024 .
{2] Trump ordered that new signs be placed outside a Smithsonian museum to warn that its depiction of U.S. history is “inaccurate.”

Thank you for a post that includes analyses, but also highlights gains for democracy and solutions. In a morning when I was feeling pretty pessimistic, you have elevated my mood; so I think you for that! Mr. Eisen, you and your colleagues may be ones to derail the runaway train of corruption, cruelty, and bigotry that represents this administration! I hope you take some energy from all of the positive messages coming your way because I am certain that what you and your colleagues are doing takes a lot of energy!
With this summary, it looks indeed as if there is light at the end of this massive level of corruption. We used to have a far more aggressive Congress when it came to anti-trust actions that aided the people and continued diversity in many arenas. There has been less of that lately, and three cheers for BlocktheMerger, Norm Eisen and the rest who are making it a reality again.
As for Trump's lawsuit against the government, any monies gained from it would be a vast violation of the emoluments clause, which has not been enforced at all during this administration's regime. With the change of majority of either house of congress, these violations that have occurred should be investigated and addressed.
The trashing of East Potomac Park, using it as a construction site dump is clearly unlawful. There must be prosecution and cleanup must not be paid for with tax dollars. Thank you for all the news, and let's keep up the good fight.
